Turo is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our fast-growing team. You will be responsible for owning the USA general ledger activities including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and partnering with cross functional teams across the organization to support month end, quarter end and year-end close activities. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager where you will focus primarily on month end close activities while also supporting the accounting team with key initiatives to upgrade the efficiency of our close activities and improve the overall control environment.

What you’ll do:
• Responsible for the USA general ledger which includes cash, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, credit cards and allocations. You will be required to prepare journal entries and reconcile your assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Partner with the Procurement and Accounts Payable teams to ensure invoice coding which affects key general ledger accounts are reviewed for accuracy in Coupa. Additionally, you will identify weaknesses and communicate feedback or process improvements where necessary.
• Develop new processes and look for opportunities to improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency of the month end close in your assigned sections. Additionally, look for opportunities to improve working schedules, reconciliations, and quality of documentation to support an efficient year-end audit.
• Participate in ensuring accurate and timely month end, quarter end and year-end accounting close activities, including being a key point of contact for provided-by-client annual audit requests.
• Support ad-hoc projects that improve key processes, such as integrating NetSuite to our banking platform for automated bank reconciliations.
• Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
Your Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business
• Experience working with NetSuite, or another large-scale accounting system
• Experience working with Coupa is preferred
• Experience working in the tech industry in a fast-paced environment
• Must have experience posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, making accruals, and building high quality working papers
• High attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

• Communicate with internal Turo stakeholders of all levels on a regular basis.

• Utilize systems and tools such as Kustomer, Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Excel.
• Quickly adjust to new processes and policies as the company continues to grow.
Your profile
• 3+ years of experience in a high level customer support environment; call center experience a plus!
• Availability on the weekends; 8 hour shift falling between the hours of 6 AM to 8 PM (MST).
• Top-notch oral and written communication skills with outstanding attention to detail.
• Experience using Zendesk, Kustomer or other customer service applications
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision/direction and in a team environment.
• Great problem solving skills, analytical abilities and ability to multitask.
• BA / BS or equivalent preferred, but not required.

What you’ll do:
• Manage the month, quarter, and year-end close procedures for the general ledger team, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis of results.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for more complex areas of accounting.
• Lead, mentor and provide support to a team of two senior accountants, one staff accountant, and oversee the global accounts payable team.
• Partner closely with external auditors and be the key point of contact for general ledger PBC requests, including pulling complex support, answering questions, assessing deficiencies, and leading process walk-throughs.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable team and ensure that the procure-to-pay process controls are being met, invoice coding is accurate, and working with the procurement manager and accounts payable supervisor to remediate any process gaps.
• Create operational and process efficiencies, including documentation of policies and procedures, to help the accounting team scale their operations and close the books more efficiently, while ensuring financial reporting accuracy and controls are maintained.
• Lead critical accounting software implementations to automate month end financial reporting close processes to close the books faster and more efficiently while also improving the quality, accuracy, and controls which integrate between our systems and accounting processes.
• Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement within the close process and implement process improvements. Be a key leader on the accounting team who partners cross-functionally to achieve objectives.
• Research technical accounting issues and perform analysis as needed working in tandem with the Director of Accounting and/or the Director of SEC Reporting Manager to implement new technical accounting standards.
• Other ad hoc projects as assigned by the Director, Accounting.
Your profile:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business (Commerce)

Your profile
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, I/O Psychology, or Human Resources Management preferred
• 7+ years experience in HR, preferably as a Business Partner supporting Engineering and Product teams at a rapidly growing, global technology organization
• S/PHR and/or SHRM S/CP certification is a plus
• Strong desire to help others and intellectual curiosity about people and organization issues
• Effective interpersonal skills and great listener
• Ability to influence managers/leaders with data-driven recommendations to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience
• Must be a confident communicator, (including both written and verbal) and the ability to to explain complex and/or confidential information as well as effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including the senior leadership team
• Excellent problem solving capabilities and judgment; ability to make sound decisions independently
• Exceptional consulting, coaching and facilitation skills
• Strong conflict resolution/mediation skills
• Experience with compensation, leveling, and benchmarking
• Demonstrated project & program management/change management skills
• Comfortable operating in a constantly changing, matrixed environment
• Working knowledge of Arizona state and federal employment laws

The Phoenix base salary target range for this full-time position is $134,000-$149,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. What You Will Do
