The University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) seeks a visionary
and experienced leader to serve as its Chief Academic Officer and
Vice Provost, UAGC (CAO) Title pending official review by The
University of Arizona. The CAO will enter UAGC during an
exciting time of growth and expansion as UAGC has recently
completed its integration as a unit of The University of Arizona, a

top-50 public university according to U.S. News & World
Report. UAGC is a leading provider of online education,
offering over 50 associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral
degree programs in a variety of fields, including business,
education, healthcare, and technology and the affiliation with
UArizona offers an opportunity to expand and accelerate its mission
to make a difference in the lives of students by providing
accessible and affordable education to students around the world.
The CAO will have tremendous opportunity to work closely with UAGC
and UArizona leadership to build a comprehensive vision and
strategy for integration and continued excellence of the academic
courses and programs.

Accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission
(WSCUC), UAGC is an exclusively online unit that enables students
to study from anywhere with an internet connection. UAGC provides
flexible and affordable educational opportunities for adult
learners who seek to gain knowledge and skills to realize their
personal and professional goals. UAGC's approximately 25,000
students comprises a highly diverse population with the approximate
distribution: 27 percent are Pell Grant recipients, 29 percent are
associated with the military and receive a military benefit, 60
percent represent the global majority, 62 percent identify as
female, and 80 percent are over the age of 30. Recognizing the
richness of its students' backgrounds, UAGC is committed to
promoting diversity among its faculty to better meet student needs.
As of 2023, more than 56 percent of UAGC faculty identify as women,
and over 34 percent belong to underrepresented groups.

As the leader of UAGC's academic enterprise and strategy, the CAO
holds a critical leadership role in ensuring UAGC continues to grow
and innovate alongside UArizona. The CAO will help maintain UAGC's
commitment to supporting students through a Culture of Care
and its joint commitment to providing students with a high-quality
education. In doing so, the CAO will address the following
opportunities and challenges:
• Strategically lead the academic mission, vision, and strategy
of UAGC's academic enterprise
• Foster synergistic partnerships between UAGC and UArizona to

• Ensure the continued high quality and success of UAGC's

This is a full-time employment position, and the CAO will work to
ensure faculty engagement and provide all students the opportunity
to succeed. This position may be remote, with the expectation of
having a significant presence at UAGC's headquarters in Chandler,
AZ, and UArizona's main campus in Tucson, AZ, which could require
frequent travel.

The Veterans Affairs (VA) Coordinator position is a full-time employment opportunity. This position advises and assists students with the process of using their Veterans educational benefits as well as other Title IV educational funding. They serve as a... knowledgeable resource for Veteran Affairs students, as well as UAGC's internal staff that are assisting them, regarding student finance questions and concerns. Veteran Affairs Coordinators also act as the University of Arizona Global Campus' VA School Certifying Officials throughout the certification process and student life cycle. The Veteran Affairs Coordinator reports to the Military Financial Services Manager. The position includes providing service to military and veteran students in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations and best practices for serving military and veteran students, including but not limited to: (1) the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding (DoD MOU), (2) the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Principles of Excellence, and (3) the Department of Education's 8 Keys to Veterans Success and (4) specific requirements of the each branch of service or Veteran Affairs educational benefit with which the student is affiliated.

Essential Job Duties:
• Maintain all Veteran Affairs Files for annual review purposes.
• Advise and assist students with the Veteran Affairs application process via telephone and/or email.
• Collect, track, and log Veteran Affairs documentation.
• Ensure documents are received, correctly filled out, and processed in a timely manner.
• Confirm coursework and attendance in CampusVue for Veteran Affairs students.
• Code appropriately in CampusVue.
• Initial data entry of Veteran Affairs certification information in the Veteran Affairs Enrollment Manager system
• Answer questions from internal UAGC staff regarding Veteran Affairs policy and procedures.
• Relay Veteran Affairs eligibility information to appropriate internal departments within UAGC as needed.
• Complete a monthly review on all Veteran Affairs student files to ensure that all necessary courses are certified correctly, Veteran Affairs payments are correct, and document a review in the students file.
• Assist students with understanding their Veteran Affairs Educational Benefits, how to use them and how to verify their attendance if needed.
• Reviews the aging report and customer balances
• Contacts the customer (via telephone/email) on past due balances
• Applies knowledge and understanding of individual customer accounts to efficiently and effectively handle account balance inquiries, resolve account problems, billing disputes, misapplied payments and other issues as needed to provide quality customer service
• Creates recommendations for review by the Military Financial Services Manager on the acceptance of payment plans, settlement amounts, partial payments, time extensions, and the writing-off of receivables.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State and Institutional Policies governing Title IV student aid programs
• Communicate with students via phone, email, etc. to answer inquiries on educational funding questions and concerns in a timely manner
• Provide excellent customer service to students, internal customers, and any authorized external parties on all incoming and outbound phone calls
• Conduct and complete activities via CampusVue
• All other duties as assigned

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
• Participate in workgroup discussions with other departments to communicate student needs and identify issues for resolution
• Multitasks various aspects of the position while being able to prioritize daily work load in order to achieve account resolution goals as well as provide quality customer service.
• Works off an assigned set of accounts and will be measured on several performance goals.
• Both Managers and Employees must ensure on a weekly basis accurate and complete timecards for each day of the week. At the end of the pay period, each employee and his/her manager must confirm the accuracy of the records and approve the timecards. This includes ensuring that all requests for sick and vacation has been recorded and that all time record entries are accurate.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications.
• Proficient in database contact management applications and contact management strategies.
• Knowledge of Veteran Affairs programs, federal financial aid programs and regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills-Verbal communication, phone skills, listening, informing, and customer focus
• Ability to follow University policies and procedures with good independent judgment

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Financial Aid and Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of CampusVue a plus
• One (1) year of experience in an educational setting or finance background

Rate of Pay:
