This position will conduct and/or participate in ongoing audits of loan applications for... HMDA applicability, will become a subject matter expert in the HMDA work processes for both Consumer and Small Business, test and implement new HMDA work procedures, and perform correction and tracking of HMDA errors and omissions. The HMDA Specialist is expected to communicate effectively. Under minimal supervision, the position will perform a wide variety of functions relating to the HMDA documentation for all consumer and small business loan requests.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Level I:
• High School graduate or similar certificate and equivalent experience in an acceptable related field.
• 1 – 2 year’s work experience in a financial institution with a focus on due diligence with loan documentation.
• 1+ year(s) HMDA experience.
• Knowledge of consumer and commercial loan documentation.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of ACTion, BakerHill, 360 View, Navigator, and UCB internal banking systems.
• Strong computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to multi-task
• Detail-oriented
• Self-starter, and works with minimal direction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Interpersonal skills and team-oriented
• Must have knowledge of fundamentals of lending and loan processing for a variety of loans.
• Ability to identify and appropriately escalate issues requiring problem solving and decision making
• Participate and complete all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
Level II:
• College Graduate Preferred. High School graduate or similar certificate and equivalent experience in an acceptable related field
• 2 – 4 year’s work experience in a financial institution with a focus on due diligence with loan documentation.
• 10+ year(s) HMDA experience.
• Strong knowledge of consumer and commercial loan documentation.

• Demonstrates an understanding of applicable bank policies and procedures as they pertain to the satisfaction of loan closing conditions as well as vendor documents.
• Excellent knowledge of consumer and commercial loan documents and requirements.
• Must have knowledge of fundamentals of lending and loan processing for a variety of loans.
• Thorough knowledge of ACTion, BakerHill, 360 View, Navigator and UCBI internal banking systems
• Excellent computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook

JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Review all Consumer and/or Small Business applications for adherence to the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act/HMDA, including non-originated applications.
• Review performance and offer process improvement recommendations for the current application system or other Consumer and/or Small Business loan processes as they relate to HMDA administration.
• Assist in development and/or maintenance of a tracking system for HMDA errors and omissions with subsequent management reporting.
• Ensure that the loan application register is up to date and submitted to Compliance in a consistent timely manner.
• Assist in preparation for audits and/or examinations.
• Complete all required training suitable to the position within the bank.
• Serve as backup to the Quality Control Specialist, as needed.
• As part of the overall team, this position may be required to assist in the support of other department activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
POLICY/GUIDELINES/REGULATIONS/LAWS/COMPLIANCE/AUDIT/LEGAL/PRODUCT:
• Thorough understanding of all Consumer and Small Business Loan products.
• Thorough knowledge of HMDA guidelines.
• Thorough knowledge of the manual and automated systems used in HMDA tracking and reporting.
• Knowledge of how to calculate loan-to-value.
• Gain a thorough knowledge of Consumer and Small Business Lending Credit Policy/Guidelines
• Thorough knowledge of loan documentation, collateral evaluation, and lien perfection.
