Department Description
The Prepare Clinics are in the process of being developed to align practices cross-bay. FTE’s will increase as the volume of visits per year increases. The Prepare clinics serves the not only the perioperative patients but also other specialties as well not limited to:Specialties include but are not limited to: General surgery, GU, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Maxillofacial, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spine, Cardiac, Vascular, Transplant, Plastics, and Dental. Each of these services includes sub-specialties and corresponding teams.
Manages and monitors the patient care delivery system within the Pediatric Prepare clinics cross-bay (Mission Bay and Oakland). Develops performance improvement goals and facilitates collaboration of staff, surgeons, and anesthesia personnel toward achieving these goals. Responsible for assessing and developing effective teamwork and communication. Oversees scheduling practices, educational needs, recognition, patient safety, operational efficiencies. Interfaces with the Operating Room Patient Care Manager, Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Schedulers, staff to manage Patient Flow concurrently and proactively. Communicates with other Assistant Unit Director/POD Manager to provide overall O.R. efficiency. Manages the Pediatric Prepare clinics in a cost-effective manner, consistent with the financial goals of the Organization. Manages nursing and administrative operations of the Prepare Clinics cross-bay to meet/improve patient flow the day of surgery. Monitors Implements changes to patient workflows and operational processes with Assistant Unit Director and Unit Director in the MB Pediatric Operating Room and other departments within perioperative services as needed. Maintains 24-hour line management responsibilities for the administration of material and human resources. The nurse manager for the prepare clinics cross-bay will incorporate other duties as needed to ensure the safe delivery of care is optimize for both sites.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher level degree of nursing education
• AHA Basic Life Support Certification
• Current State of California Nursing License
• Experience as a registered nurse in an operating room setting with specific knowledge of robotic and transplant instrumentation, equipment and procedures, including General surgery, GU, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Maxillofacial, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spine, Cardiac, Vascular, Transplant, Plastics, and Dental
• Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, critical events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills. Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making. Extensive knowledge of PreOp and Prepare clinic operations.
• Strong leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines.
• Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration and consistent achievement of objectives.
• Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.

Department Description
The Prepare Clinics are in the process of being developed to align practices cross-bay. FTE’s will increase as the volume of visits per year increases. The Prepare clinics serves the not only the perioperative patients but also other specialties as well not limited to:Specialties include but are not limited to: General surgery, GU, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Maxillofacial, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spine, Cardiac, Vascular, Transplant, Plastics, and Dental. Each of these services includes sub-specialties and corresponding teams.
Manages and monitors the patient care delivery system within the Pediatric Prepare clinics cross-bay (Mission Bay and Oakland). Develops performance improvement goals and facilitates collaboration of staff, surgeons, and anesthesia personnel toward achieving these goals. Responsible for assessing and developing effective teamwork and communication. Oversees scheduling practices, educational needs, recognition, patient safety, operational efficiencies. Interfaces with the Operating Room Patient Care Manager, Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Schedulers, staff to manage Patient Flow concurrently and proactively. Communicates with other Assistant Unit Director/POD Manager to provide overall O.R. efficiency. Manages the Pediatric Prepare clinics in a cost-effective manner, consistent with the financial goals of the Organization. Manages nursing and administrative operations of the Prepare Clinics cross-bay to meet/improve patient flow the day of surgery. Monitors Implements changes to patient workflows and operational processes with Assistant Unit Director and Unit Director in the MB Pediatric Operating Room and other departments within perioperative services as needed. Maintains 24-hour line management responsibilities for the administration of material and human resources. The nurse manager for the prepare clinics cross-bay will incorporate other duties as needed to ensure the safe delivery of care is optimize for both sites.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher level degree of nursing education

The Office of Enterprise Emergency Management at UCSF focuses its work on the four phases of Emergency Management (Preparedness, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery) and Business Continuity. This work helps UCSF maintains safe environments for its staff, patients, faculty, visitors, vendors, and community during normal and emergency operations. The Office of Enterprise Emergency Management strives to be a national and international leader by developing and maintaining a high functioning emergency management and business continuity programs that implement and develop best practices, using a progressive and modern approach to an ever-changing environment.
Required Qualifications
• 7 plus years’ experience in Emergency Management/Business Continuity
• Effective management experience and proven leadership skills
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
• Advanced skill to professionally and effectively represent the organization to external partners, including local, state, and federal authorities, first response organizations, and community groups.
• Demonstrated understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to Emergency Management, including The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

Job Summary
Provides senior-level executive assistance to the Chief Executive Officer, UCSF Health. Performs and/or oversees special projects or assignments that are highly sensitive or complex in nature, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation. Handles details and oversees work of a highly confidential and critical nature to support the executive on matters of significance. Responsible for resolving complex and sensitive issues while remaining responsive to the varied and changing priorities of a high profile, dynamic and demanding environment. Under minimal direction, provides all assistance as required. Manages responses on behalf of the CEO to requests and inquiries from Campus and external constituents. Such concerns/issues are most often of a non-routine nature, requiring research, independent judgment and/or innovation to resolve. Must maintain a solid working knowledge of the organization, personnel, mission, and functions of departments which report to the CEO and be able to respond to issues effectively and with minimal guidance. Required Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures.

Required Qualifications
• A minimum of three (3) years of recent RN clinical work experience in a Radiology procedural setting (Interventional or Neuro Interventional)
• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing
• Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a patient care unit
• Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources matters and employee performance. Provides input to decision-makers on human resources matters
