Position Summary:

Facilities Management & Planning is responsible for the care and maintenance of 5 million square feet of academic, administrative & athletic facilities, on a 388 acre urban campus. Improve our efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Lead electrical installs and repairs. Troubleshoot all aspects of our electrical systems. Estimates and coordinates electrical projects. Assigns work orders in supervisor's absence. Trains less experienced staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Experience sufficient to qualify as a Journeyman, with a minimum of four years actual work in the trade, including apprentice or vocational training.
-Ability to read, write, and comprehend English, and make simple math calculations.
-Ability to read and understand working drawings, use electrical measuring devices.
-Knowledge of current NEC and OBBC.
-Knowledge of craft tools and equipment Ability to follow instructions, both oral and written.
-Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the University, which includes maintaining a low risk driving record.
-Basic computer knowledge.
-Troubleshooting experience.
-Fire alarm license and troubleshooting experience.
-High voltage maintenance experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
-Seven to ten year's experience in electrical troubleshooting.
-Electrical controls experience.
- VFD experience.

Reporting to the associate vice president for student development & dean of students (AVPDOS), the assistant vice president for student development and executive director of housing & residence life (AVPHRL) is a senior administrator in the Division of Student Development who is responsible for the design, implementation, evaluation, and administration of a comprehensive residential program serving students living in residence halls, apartments, and University-owned houses in the student neighborhoods. The AVPHRL works collaboratively with the vice president for student development, the AVPDOS, and key campus partners and stakeholders to establish the strategic direction and vision for the department, set departmental goals and priorities, and identify and allocate financial and human resources. In concert with the University's vision for integrated learning and living, the AVPHRL will manage and maintain a vibrant, developmental residential community for students that values, promotes, and fosters the development of leadership, civility and faith in the Catholic and Marianist tradition.
The position requires a master's degree in Leadership Development, Counseling, College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess at least ten years of relevant, progressive leadership and professional experience working in residence life and housing operations. Successful candidates will also exhibit demonstrated knowledge and understanding of student development theory and practice; ability to work with an increasingly diverse campus community; supervisory experience with undergraduate, graduate, professional, and clerical/administrative staff; demonstrated experience with responding to and managing emergency situations as part of an on-call crisis/duty rotation; experience with adjudicating student conduct; and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a university setting.
