CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

The Office of the University Registrar, as part of the
Enrollment Management Team, manages information systems, maintains
students’ academic records, and provides educational support
services for the University community.

Under the limited supervision of the Associate Registrar the
Assistant Registrar collaborates with assistant deans and academic
departmental staff to support student record and curriculum
management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports the Committee on Undergraduate Records and
Certification (CURC) committee by creating committee schedules and
agendas and providing administrative support at meetings as
requested.
• Collaborates with the Academic Records Assistant II to update
student records and communicate petition decisions.
• Evaluates and manages the grading cycles and processes;
investigates, analyzes, and resolves grading issues. Maintains
grade changes and incomplete grade processes. Processes Grading
forms including Grade Forgiveness and Incomplete Grade
Extensions.
• Responds to complex registration and grading-related inquiries
and communicates/clarifies policies and procedures.
• Develops and delivers point-of-use training to faculty and
academic unit staff.
• Monitors and maintains Waitlists including setting up,
troubleshooting, and communicating to students.
• Codes, places, and troubleshoots Course Requisites.
• Plans, places, communicates and troubleshoots Student
Enrollment Appointments.
• Runs Post Enrollment Requirement Checking (PERC) and
communicates to students that have failed to meet requisites.
• Provides support for in-person services in the University
Visitors Center.
• Serves as a backup for registration and graduation processes,
forms and services. Supports new student registration and New
Student Orientation duties as identified by the Associate
Registrar.
• Assists with Change of Major/Minor/Graduation Term form
processing.
• Supports database testing for grading and registration
functions.
• Supports the assessment of business practices and helps explore
and implement alternatives for the purpose of improving performance
and establishing standardized systems and procedures.
• Maintains documentation of registration and grading-related
changes in accordance with records retention policies.
• Maintains archival records.
• May supervise student workers.
• May assist with transfer and test credit posting as
needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned; works
cooperatively in a team-centered environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree and three years of progressively responsible
job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of office
management.
• Knowledge of academic and administrative programs, policies,
and procedures.
• Ability to analyze and interpret academic records and make
independent decisions and judgments in accordance with University

Context of the Job:

Under the general direction of the Senior Director, Digital
Communications in OCM, and with a dotted line to the Office of
Undergraduate Admissions, the Digital Content Specialist manages
digital communications related to prospective undergraduate
students, their parents/guardians and school counselors including
but not limited to UD’s main website, the Admissions’ website,
central University of Delaware social media channels, search-engine
optimization efforts, email marketing and paid social media
advertising.

Major Responsibilities:
• Maintains the Admissions’ website and relevant pages on UD’s
main website, ensuring up-to-date information on the Admissions
cycle and events while providing content and a user-experience that
appeals to prospective students; works in conjunction with the
Admissions team and OCM to create a content calendar and
strategy.
• Assists with social media content for prospective students,
including the strategic development, management, and content
creation of the University’s presence on social media platforms
including, but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and
YouTube. Occasionally live-covers events such as open houses, tours
and more.
• Works with UD’s colleges and academic units to ensure that

Qualifications:

CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

The University of Delaware invites applications for the position
of Academic Program Coordinator, Student Support Services Program.
The Center for Academic Success assists the University of Delaware
with the retention of students through its collection of academic
support programs, services and activities. The Student Support
Services Program (SSSP) within the Center for Academic Success is a
TRIO program funded by the U.S. Department of Education that
provides academic assistance, personal support, cultural
enrichment, and individual support for eligible undergraduate
students at the University of Delaware. The primary objectives of
SSSP are to assist participants academically, to increase their
persistence in college, and ultimately to graduate from the
University with a baccalaureate degree. Under the general direction
of the Academic Program Manager, the Academic Program Coordinator
assists in the identification and selection of SSSP participants,
provides a full range of general counseling/mentoring activities
and acts as an advocate for students having difficulties

Review of applications will begin March 20, 2023

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides individual and group counseling for students and
documents counseling/mentoring activities.
• Develops, adopts, enforces, oversees, and/or implements
policies and procedures on a range of student affairs issues;
coordinates and enforces policies and procedures, and ensures
compatibility with university-wide policies.
• Determines and interprets student services needs on an
individual basis, and initiates referrals to appropriate student
and/or academic services; advises students on policy issues, acts
as student advocate, and resolves problems as necessary.
• Monitors the progress of at-risk students in special academic
circumstances to improve retention of all enrolled students, and
provides special assistance in university-wide efforts to increase
retention.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in education, educational administration,
counseling, career counseling, student development, social work or
other related field and three years of related experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years’ experience providing services to
individuals at risk, preferably in a postsecondary setting.
• Knowledge of academic, economic, social and cultural needs of
at-risk students and of programmatic methods effective in
overcoming those needs.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities, and
first-generation and low-income students preferred.
• Training or experience in issues pertaining to college student
development, counseling theories and practices, using diagnostic
tests in counseling, career development and multicultural
topics.
• Knowledge of retention issues and strategies pertaining to
project-eligible participants and of postsecondary institutional
and community resources.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge
and understanding of academic policies and procedures; ability to
evaluate student transcripts and/or records and to communicate
course prerequisites, certification, and/or curriculum/graduation
requirements.
• Proficient computer skills including use of presentation
software, Excel, Access, and experience with UDSIS preferred;
ability to present effectively to small and large groups and to
work productively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse
community.
