Position Summary

Fashion Design Program
The CVAD (College of Visual Arts and Design) BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) program in Fashion Design emphasizes conceptual design, technical design and technology, and apparel industry practices in a skill-building curriculum. As the sole Fashion Design BFA program in the Southwest region, our creative and diverse student population is sought after for employment in the fashion industry nationwide. Recent BFA graduates have gone to work for companies such as Alice + Olivia, Liz Claiborne, Dickies, Dillard's, Fossil, Sag Harbor, JCPenney, Calvin Klein, Reed Krakoff, Ralph Lauren, Tandy Brands, Theory, Talbot's, Gloria Vanderbilt, and White House Black Market.
The MFA (Master of Fine Arts) program in the Fashion Design program is based on independent study and serves those individuals interested in pursuing a career in teaching Fashion Design at the university level. Additionally, the fashion design program has an important resource in the college's Texas Fashion Collection: a unique repository documenting high fashion and style and one of the most acclaimed educational resources at the University of North Texas.
Design Department
The department of design offers undergraduate- and graduate-level professional programs in Communication Design, Fashion Design, Interaction Design, and Interior Design. These programs share a common mission that prepares students to meet, define and reinvent solutions for the fundamental challenges that impact their respective professions in the increasingly changing world. The College of Visual Arts and Design at The University of North Texas (UNT) is accepting applications for a full-time faculty position as an open-rank Lecturer (lecturer, senior lecturer, principal lecturer) in Fashion Design.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate students. Teaching responsibilities will include fashion design studios and the span of the fashion design curriculum. The college's standard teaching workload for lecturer faculty is eight courses per academic year. Department Summary
The Department of Mechanical Engineering consists of 27 full-time faculty and several others on joint/partial appointments, including a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). Many of its faculty have received prestigious professional awards, are fellows of various societies, and are extensively cited for their work. ME faculty collaborate actively with researchers from various disciplines of sciences and engineering at UNT. The Department offers four bachelors, three masters and one doctoral degree programs with 970 baccalaureate, 88 Masters, and 39 doctoral students enrolled in these programs. The Department is expected to continue growing in the faculty size and student enrollment/ graduation. It is also envisioned that ME will expand its research potential through collaborations and team efforts with materials, manufacturing, AI, biomedical, and physics faculty. The department is associated with the UNT's new Center for Agile and Adaptive Additive Manufacturing (CAAAM), which is funded $10M by the State of Texas for the initial phase of two years during 2019-2021, to establish a center of excellence (https://caaam.unt.edu/).(https://caaam.unt.edu/). Position Overview
This position is responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, designing, and fabricating instruments/equipment used for scientific experiments. Performs demonstrations for faculty and students on proper operation of equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree in related field and three years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Working knowledge of related tools, equipment, materials, and other devices.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, charts and designs.
