We are looking for an intern who will work as a Digital Content Publisher to contribute to the ongoing growth and optimization of our legal article database. With over 1M+ visitors to the UpCounsel website per month, this role will play a pivotal part in republishing updated content faster. This is an entry level position. To be successful you will need to be organized and ensure the content republished looks great on our website.
Responsibilities:
Your main focus will be on 2 projects types:
Republish content that has been reoptimized (80%)
You will get access to our CMS. You will access specific articles from a prioritized list and upload an updated version of the content (you don’t have to write that content yourself, just replace the old version with an updated version of the content).
An important part of your work is QA. You must... ensure that content republished is well formatted (headings/text color and size, etc).
Existing content re-optimization (20%)
In some cases, we may also ask you to reoptimize existing articles using SEO tools.
We will share target keywords that a given page is ranking for and additional keywords for you to use. You will follow instructions in a content brief.
We may also ask you to create appealing visuals to make articles more compelling for our readers.
Initially you will spend 80% of your time republishing content and 20% re-optimizing existing articles and learning SEO basics.
Requirements:
• (MUST) You are still studying as this is an intern position. Journalism or Marketing studies are a plus.
• Graphic Design experience is also a plus.
• Good communication skills. Our remote team works asynchronously so it is important that you communicate in a concise and efficient manner.
• Experience or studies in the LEGAL industry is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of SEO is a plus. If you don’t know anything about SEO we can guide you and provide learning resources.
• Great self-management skills.
DELIVERABLES
• Every week you will republish at least 30 existing articles (5-7 articles every 4h-day).
• We are big on focus, accountability, and autonomy. Everyone works in a self-directed manner. As long as you deliver results and meet deadlines, we will not waste your time.
