Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Impact
Assessment and Organizational Analysis, the UX Researcher and
Designer uses established research and statistical methods to
study, analyze, and recommend improvements to service delivery in
order to ensure effective alignment with user needs. The services
in scope for UX research and design comprise physical library
spaces, analog and digital business processes-- such as circulation
and online system authentication - access to digital and print
collections, and digital interfaces along with their related
affordances, including the Penn Libraries website
(library.upenn.edu), its discovery platform, Franklin, research
guides, and host of other web-based properties. The UX Researcher
and Designer will also inform our understanding of factors that

The Reconceptualizing Gender and Health (RGH) project is creating an innovative theoretical framework to identify key interpersonal, institutional, and structural mechanisms through which conformity and non-conformity to gender expectations shape health. Our goal is to create tools and actionable information to inform health equity activities. Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, RGH is a two-year research project located in the Sex-Gen Lab at the School of Social Policy and Practice.

Under the direction of the Sex-Gen Lab's co-principle investigator and director, the Research Associate will conduct qualitative research interviews, participate in in-vivo and predetermined data coding and analysis using NVivo software, assist with participant recruitment efforts, and support marketing/outreach efforts.

The Research Associate must be comfortable discussing issues related to gender and to health. The position is for 20 flexible hybrid hours/week. Job Responsibilities

An understanding of and/or experience with health and/or gender-related issues and communities is a plus. Social media or marketing experience also a plus. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Student Engagement, the PennRSSA Program Director (PennRSSA PD) leads a vibrant, hybrid, college preparatory program, the University of Pennsylvania’s PennRSSA Program, a University funded program designed to help first-generation students from low-income families successfully complete high school and enroll in postsecondary school. PennRSSA provides approximately 2,500 students in grades 6-12 from middle schools and high schools throughout Philadelphia with support services that promote the academic and personal development necessary for entry into and success in postsecondary school. Our services are completely free to eligible students.

The PENNRSSA PD is responsible for developing, articulating, and implementing a strategic recruitment, enrollment, service implementation, participant eligibility and service documentation, and student progression plan for all participants. The PENNRSSA PD is also expected to use in-person and digital, synchronous, and asynchronous, strategies to drive program awareness, to build, and to sustain a world-class recruitment and service delivery pre-college preparatory program for eligible students. Especially encourage the development of programs and activities that are specially designed for students who are limited English proficient, students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education, students with disabilities, students who are homeless children and youths, and students who are in foster care or are aging out of the foster care system or other disconnected students.

In close partnership with SDP, Penn, and local academic and administrative partners, and with broad awareness of current and impending trends affecting college recruitment and enrollment for low-income, first generation, students, the PENNRSSA PD plays an integral in the development of our valued program participants. Responsibilities
• Responsible for developing, articulating, and implementing a strategic curriculum, recruitment, enrollment, service implementation, participant eligibility and service documentation, and student progression plan for all participants that will ensure that up to 2,500 eligible students receive TS program services annually.
• Work collaboratively, on site and on campus, in person and virtually, with PennRSSA faculty and academic affairs liaisons from all 12 Penn Schools, Library, and ISC colleagues; SDP principals, counselors, teachers; other School District personnel, VPSE and other Penn faculty and staff, Philadelphia community leaders, and other partners to provide academic enrichment, tutorial services, career exploration, aptitude assessments, counseling, mentoring programs, workshops, information on postsecondary institutions; education or counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of students; assure digital literacy programming, and spotlight STEM coursework and general educational development programs for postsecondary education.
• Hire, trains and effectively manages the performance of 50 – 100 part-time staff during academic year and summer programming.
• Work closely with PennRSSA parents and/or guardians to inform them of high school graduation requirements, academic enrichment opportunities and college

expectations.
• Develop and maintain systematic data collection procedures and maintains documentation of student eligibility, monitoring student progress through college admissions and program evaluations.
• Prepare and monitor, with the Departmental Business Manager, the annual budget plan. Allocates resources and manages expenditures in accordance with federal, University and divisional policies and procedures. Responsible for the stewardship of resources in excess of $200,000 annually. Prepare APR and VPSE end of year annual reports and budget closeouts and submits annual and periodic programming and financial reports to the University and the Department of Education.

Qualifications
• A Master's degree and at least two years of experience in a progressive management role in college preparatory programming, admissions, enrollment management, and/or financial aid in higher education is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description Summary

The Division of Facilities and Real Estate Services (FRES) provides
the expertise, business process, policies and standards required to
plan, design, construct, operate, maintain and renew the physical
assets of the University, excluding the health system. In addition,
the Division, comprised of approximately five Departments, is
responsible for the strategic planning, management and operation of
non-academic University property, and collaborating with the
neighborhood to create a safe, diverse and economically vibrant
destination. With close to 12M square feet of space, FRES maintains
186 buildings on a campus of 276 acres, completes over 60,000
maintenance requests per year, and starts approximately 250
projects a year. FRES is comprised of the following Departments:
Administration, Office of the University Architect, Design and
Construction, Real Estate, Operations and Maintenance.

Job Description

Customer Call Center Representative - Lead
Agent

Lead call center representative responsible for receiving and
responding to all incoming calls and work requests, routine and
emergency, from various schools, centers, and other University
customers specific to the operations and maintenance of Penn's
campus. Identify customer's needs, clarify information from
customer, and investigate answers to customer
questions/concerns.

Identify and escalate priority issues. Dispatch and assign work
based on general building and technical knowledge. Route calls to
the appropriate resource.

This position is the direct back up to the Call Center Manager.
Manage requests using the FRES computerized maintenance management
system. Use of Microsoft Office to prepare reports using data from
the maintenance management system. Proficiently operate the Work
Control Center's Automatic Call Distribution system, which includes
retrieving recorded calls, running reports and coaching agents on
their telephone skills. This position will also support our trades
by working with the material storeroom to track material for campus
operations. This position will assist Manager with training FRES
staff on work order system. In addition to reporting to the call
center Manager this position works closely with the Operational
Control Center, Trades Management and Area Managers. Excellent
customer service is required to ensure work orders are handled
appropriately, particular those concerning life safety and
research.

Qualifications
• This position requires several years of working experience in a
customer service, call center or administrative position dealing
with the public. Associates or two year college equivalent
preferred.
• Candidates must have at least 3 years of related experience.
Will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and
experience.
• Candidate with an understanding of general building/trade
knowledge is preferred.
• Must have experience in automatic call distribution (ACD) and
familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
(CMMS), strong demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (i.e.
Excel, Word), demonstrated communication skills, and general office
skills.
• Must have 1-3 yrs of supervisory experience.
• Experience in creating and preparing reports is preferred.
Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, empathy, customer
service and a cooperative attitude. Must be able to maintain
professionalism under stressful situations.
• Candidate must demonstrate excellent attention to detail,
critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
and be well organized with the ability to prioritize work
required.
• Must be flexible in working hours depending on departmental
needs to include various arrangements of relief days off and hours
of assignment.
