Job Summary:

An academic clinical improvement coach for the Division of Hospital of Medicine, Department of Medicine, is sought to facilitate success in scholarly clinical improvement activities for faculty and trainees. Scholarly activities (such as original quality improvement projects, or original reviews/research) are a priority for the Division and our faculty have expressed high interest. Success and productivity are currently constrained by the limited studies/research training and relatively limited time available for our clinical faculty. As such, we are seeking a health services hospitalist/researcher with strong skills in clinical improvement projects/research methods and project implementation for a 0.50 full time equivalent position as an academic clinical improvement coach and 0.5 FTE as a hospitalist. The coach may be a masters-level (with appropriate experience), PhD, or MD-level researcher and must have strong interpersonal skills. They are expected to serve as an accessible mentor and coach regarding research, quality improvement, and other scholarly activities. They are expected to engage in active marketing of their services and to track their successes (e.g., track numbers of consultations, numbers of associated research projects (posters, presentations, peer-reviewed manuscripts), and numbers of faculty and trainees engaged as co-authors across the University).
Hospitalist Duties:Patient care with a broad array of teaching opportunities.Responsibilities include ward attending and medical consultation onsurgical service and in the Emergency Department, processimprovement activities, and teaching. Clinical and health outcomesresearch are encouraged
