Duties & Responsibilities

Strength & Conditioning
• Provide top-level performance services to assist athletes training at USA Boxing at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs
• Assist in the implementation and supervision of strength, speed, and conditioning programs of elite athletes training at the CSOPTC.
• Aid in conducting performance testing and monitoring of athletes that may include collection, analysis, and interpretation of results.
• Work with the USA Boxing Sport Performance Staff in providing coverage for athletes while staff is traveling.
• Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the Assistant HP Director’s programming style and expectations for implementation. Report back to the Assistant HP Director on sessions and have the trust to adjust as needed.
• Provide athlete-specific training plans for assigned athletes and teams.
• Teach, instruct, and spot athletes effectively on proper strength training and Olympic weightlifting technique.
• Establish and maintain professional relationship with USOPC Sports Performance staff.

Facility Operations
• Monitor and supervise the USA Boxing facility, including opening and closing duties.
• Ensure the disinfecting and cleanliness of the training areas and equipment of the strength and conditioning facility at the CSOPTC, according to USOPC protocols.
• Assist with and lead the training of elite, youth and junior national teams.
• Accurate record keeping for athletes.
• Maintain daily upkeep of facility and equipment.
• Manage the USA Boxing Space when the Assistant HP Director is traveling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or equivalent experience
• Current pursuit of master’s degree in exercise science or related field preferred

Licensure & Certification
• One of the nationally recognized certifications in strength & conditioning:
• Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association: Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
• National Strength & Conditioning Association: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Experience
• 1-2 years of strength and conditioning experience
• Experience in performance testing
• Experience in periodization, programming, and coaching

Skills And Competencies Required
• Ability to effectively teach and demonstrate proper exercise technique
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds
• Microsoft Applications
• Prolonged standing and physical activity
• Early morning, late evening, and weekend hours as needed
• Regular attendance at work is an essential job function

Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency in athlete monitoring technology
• Proficiency in Hawking Dynamic Force Plates (or related systems)
• Proficiency in Perch VBT system (or related systems)
• Familiarity with athlete profiling

• Handle telephone calls and emails related to member services
• Has the ability to perform all tasks in our database related to member services
• Learn all aspects of membership with USAB
• Assist with other projects as they arise and if workload permits

Qualifications:

Education
• Minimum: High School Diploma
• Some college preferred

Experience
• At least one year of previous customer service experience, plus administrative/clerical/work experience

Skills and Competencies:
• Spanish language skills preferred.
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet
• Excellent customer service skills to include strong written and verbal communication as well as phone etiquette
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; proofreading skills
• Proper English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Ability to compose business correspondence
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
• Ability to operate standard office equipment: multi-line telephone, fax, scanner
• The ability to travel occasionally, if necessary
