The Senior Solutions Architect is an exceptionally technical position. The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate recent hands-on solution architecture and software development experience.

What you'll be doing day to day:

You'll create technical roadmaps that consider the most appropriate modern technologies and solutions and that align across the product line(s) and across USPTO (using and championing microservices, microservice platform capabilities and serverless platforms, communication models and patterns, message-driven architecture, test automation, process automation, advanced CI/CD pipelines, observability, AI/ML frameworks, etc.).

You'll be hands-on to articulate and implement enterprise architecture and strategic vision and translate the architecture and vision into implementable steps for product teams.

You'll provide direction and hands-on execution assistance to DevSecOps teams on planning, architecture, design, development, legacy migration, enterprise services, modernization roadmaps, system integration, infrastructure, testing, security, availability/redundancy, delivery, operations and maintenance.

You'll interpret business requirements and translate them into technical and operational requirements and consider the rest of the enterprise and those opportunities that can lead toward service extension and optimization.

You'll research and apply innovative solutions to resolve large scale and highly complex critical problems in existing systems, as well as longstanding stability issues.

Qualifications

Specialized experience for this position includes:

Professional Technical Qualifications: Applicants must clearly demonstrate in their application materials that they possess technical attributes in the PTQs. The Professional Technical Qualifications (PTQs) for this position are:

1. Describe your senior-level experience driving organizational change through the use of technology while working hands on with many product development, security, and operations delivery efforts and in coordination with multiple stakeholders. Specifically discuss:
• Your role developing code for a business feature of a software product using C#, Python, JavaScript (server-side) or Typescript which was deployed to a production environment.
• Your development of code (Terraform or CSP-native) for infrastructure deployment for a major cloud provider where that infrastructure-as-code was deployed to a production environment.

2. Describe your demonstrated experience in the past six months presenting architecture roadmaps to executive leadership, which include explaining plans for cross team reuse of source code that you developed. Provide details about the reusable source code, including enough information to demonstrate that you developed the code. Explain explain either how implementation of that code has already benefited an organization or the value you explained to stakeholders ahead of adoption.
