We seek applicants capable of teaching AWR 101: Writing and Inquiry
and AWR 201: Writing and Research, our first- and second-year
courses that teach critical reading, writing, and research
skills.

Our vibrant and growing Academic Writing (AWR) Program welcomes
applicants with experience and enthusiasm for teaching academic
writing to students with diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate
will be a dedicated teacher with a demonstrable commitment to
academic writing and writing pedagogy. The on-campus, in-person
teaching load will be 28 credit hours per year in academic writing,
typically consisting of seven four-hour courses. In addition to
teaching duties, successful candidates will contribute to the
Academic Writing Program by participating in curricular
initiatives, taking part in committee work, and developing
collegial exchanges with peers.

Successful candidates will have college- or university-level
experience teaching academic writing and demonstrated
scholarly/professional activity. Applicants must be currently
authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

We seek a candidate who can teach in our Academic Writing program and in one or more areas of creative writing, such as (but not limited to) playwriting, genre writing, magazine writing, graphic novel and memoir writing, writing for games, hybrid writing, as well as traditional forms of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. We hope to find a candidate who can situate these topics within a diverse, inclusive, and global context.

The candidate will teach a combination of creative writing courses and first- and second-year Academic Writing. Teaching responsibility is six four-credit courses for the Fall semester of 2023 through Spring 2024. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level both in creative and Academic Writing. Ongoing commitment to creative work and/or scholarly research is expected.
