The School of Nursing is one of six schools at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio), the only academic health science center in South Texas and the chief catalyst for San Antonio’s thriving $42.2 billion healthcare and biosciences industry. For more than 50 years, the School of Nursing has educated nurse leaders, clinicians, scientists and teachers to serve the diverse and underserved 38-county population of South Texas. The school offers several academic programs consisting of BSN, DNP and PhD degrees and specialty certificates. A state-of-the-art Center for Simulation Innovation is used for clinical education, as well as a growing patient care practice providing primary and acute care at the school’s clinic, Wellness 360 , and at a number of community partner sites. As leaders in community outreach, the school also operates a mobile health unit for disaster relief and other missions. Faculty enjoy a wide range of engagement through the school’s research program. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting general and geriatric psychiatrists for a faculty position in our growing department. Candidates must be board‐certified or board‐eligible academic general psychiatrists to fill these full‐time Assistant Professor positions on the non‐tenure track. The faculty will be responsible for individual clinical duties and supervision of psychiatry residents and medical students at a variety of clinical sites. These sites include the psychiatric services in the outpatient UT Health faculty practice plan and participation in clinical research trials.
Applicants must hold a valid Texas medical license. In addition, candidates must be eligible for clinical privileges with the University Health System under the appropriate staff category and must agree to abide by those privileges as outlined by the current bylaws of the institution. Applications will be accepted until suitable qualified candidates are found.
