The UU World of Children is a unique and progressive Montessori school located near Paris Mountain in Greenville, SC. Surrounded by nature, our school boasts beautiful gardens on the playground, providing a unique and stimulating backdrop for both teachers and students. We believe in the Montessori philosophy and are committed to fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Duties
As an assistant teacher, your responsibilities include:
• Assist the lead teacher in creating a dynamic and engaging Montessori learning environment.
• Foster a love for learning through hands-on, nature-inspired activities.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement creative lesson plans.
• Support and guide students in their social and emotional growth.
• Embrace outdoor education by utilizing our gardens and natural surroundings.
• Actively participate in a collaborative and supportive team of staff members to create a harmonious learning environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring all supplies are readily available for teaching and learning.
• Supervise lunch and snack times
• Ensure children's safety and enjoyment while on the playground.
• Keep children engaged in various activities that promote their growth and development.
• Pursue 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in early childhood education each year to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching practices and educational advancements.
Requirements
• Must be at least 18
• High School diploma
• Strong work ethic
• Enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated to a long-term career in education
• A passion for outdoor learning and incorporating nature into the curriculum
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Be willing to learn more about the Montessori Method
Nice To Haves
• 6 months experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred
• Undergraduate degree in Education or a similar field strongly preferred
• Montessori experience
