OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: This position is located in the Emergency Department - interviews patient and family to collect required demographic/financial data and completes admission/registration forms. Provide front line customer service including reception and registration. Is responsible for performing clerical duties, facilitating communication, and is the liaison for ER staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Interviews patient or their representative to collect required demographic/financial data and completes admission/registration forms
• Updates and maintains accurate record of patient Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Verifies patient health insurance plan. Updates EMR with copay and eligibility information
• Responsible for calling overhead Code pages and drills
• Responsible for coordinating Ambulance transfer and assembling patient transfer documentation packet
• Retrieving outside Hospital, Primary care, Specialist, and Pharmacy records at the request of staff
• Ordering office and stock supplies for unit and break room
• Responsible for performing clerical duties, facilitating communication and contributing to a smooth functioning, well equipped unit
• Performs other duties as assigned, some of which may be essential to the job
SKILLS:
• Possess effective time management, organization, and situational awareness skills in a fast paced environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and telephone communication skills
• Understanding of HIPAA and EMTALA rules
• Analytical skills to read and understand instructions, add and subtract numbers, and make relatively straight-forward comparisons between numbers and letters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School level of communication and/or math skills.

OBJECTIVE SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for creating the first impression of the hospital’s services to patient’s, their families, and other external customers. Patient Access Representatives are responsible for the integrity of all front-end business functions that support excellent patient-centered customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Greet and welcome all patients and visitors in a warm professional manner. Adhere to behaviors and conduct that contributes to excellent patient service.
• Ensure that complete and accurate demographic and financial information has been populated into electronic medical records by interviewing patients and collecting and recording all necessary information for patient registration.
• Ensure patient receives necessary Medicare/Medicaid disclosures, verification and privacy information, including, but not limited to, education regarding the Charity Care policy and the hospital’s billing procedures. Obtain all necessary legal and financial signatures.
• Demonstrate a culture of safety in daily operations. Work as a patient advocate to help identify patient needs e.g., transportation, interpreter, wheelchair assistance.
• Collect patient payments including payments on account, copays, coinsurance and deductibles as applicable.
• Schedule follow up patient appointments.
• Answer hospital main telephone line and redirects call to appropriate department.
• Perform general copying duties and other duplicating needs as requested.
• Perform other business and customer service functions as required by Patient Access Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma/GED or 1 year previous experience in Patient Registration, Financial Counseling, or Health Unit Coordinator.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1 year of professional experience in a medical office or customer service setting. Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

• Ability to accurately type a minimum of 35 wpm.

OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: Provides professional nursing care for hospital patients and outpatients following established standards and practices. OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: The Laboratory Technologist/Technician (MT/MLT) provides information for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory testing and procedures per provider orders. The MT/MLT is ultimately responsible for the quality and integrity of patient results, thus their strict adherence to procedures and policies is paramount.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Performs blood and body fluid analysis through multiple manual and automated methods
• Ensures operation of laboratory instrumentation and other equipment through calibration, quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Provides thorough documentation of all procedures performed during shift including patient records, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and quality control procedures, outcomes, and corrective action taken
• Appropriately communicates irregular events to coworkers, other departments, and management
• Reports safety, compliance, and confidentiality issues through the proper channel
• Complies with all local, state, and federal requirements for healthcare institutions and medical laboratories including, but not limited to, CLIA, WA DOH, and OSHA
• Strictly adheres to all Snoqualmie Valley Hospital system procedures and policies as well as Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Laboratory-specific procedures and policies
• Monitors laboratory supply inventory by quantifying stock and evaluating needs; reports potential shortages to laboratory administration in a timely manner
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Participates in training of new employees and student externs
• Reflects the quality of their work with respectful and friendly communication with coworkers, patients, providers, and other departments
• Performs all functions of the Laboratory Assistant including inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy, clerical functions, inter-department communication, and problem solving
• Covers additional shifts as requested by laboratory management
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science (MT/MLS) from a post-secondary school or college accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the US Department of Education or high school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist
• Current ASCP or AAMT certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days with proof of scheduled exam
• Current WA State Medical-Assistant/Phlebotomist certificate, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days with proof of application
SKILLS:
• Proficiency in all laboratory departments including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, molecular testing, and urinalysis
• Ability to operate laboratory instrumentation including maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to perform manual methods such as cell counting and microscopic examinations
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and capillary blood collection

OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: The Laboratory Technologist/Technician (MT/MLT) provides information for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory testing and procedures per provider orders. The MT/MLT is ultimately responsible for the quality and integrity of patient results, thus their strict adherence to procedures and policies is paramount.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Performs blood and body fluid analysis through multiple manual and automated methods
• Ensures operation of laboratory instrumentation and other equipment through calibration, quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Provides thorough documentation of all procedures performed during shift including patient records, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and quality control procedures, outcomes, and corrective action taken
• Appropriately communicates irregular events to coworkers, other departments, and management
• Reports safety, compliance, and confidentiality issues through the proper channel
• Complies with all local, state, and federal requirements for healthcare institutions and medical laboratories including, but not limited to, CLIA, WA DOH, and OSHA
• Strictly adheres to all Snoqualmie Valley Hospital system procedures and policies as well as Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Laboratory-specific procedures and policies
• Monitors laboratory supply inventory by quantifying stock and evaluating needs; reports potential shortages to laboratory administration in a timely manner
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Participates in training of new employees and student externs
• Reflects the quality of their work with respectful and friendly communication with coworkers, patients, providers, and other departments
• Performs all functions of the Laboratory Assistant including inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy, clerical functions, inter-department communication, and problem solving
• Covers additional shifts as requested by laboratory management
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science (MT/MLS) from a post-secondary school or college accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the US Department of Education or high school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist
• Current ASCP or AAMT certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days with proof of scheduled exam
• Current WA State Medical-Assistant/Phlebotomist certificate, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days with proof of application
SKILLS:
• Proficiency in all laboratory departments including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, molecular testing, and urinalysis
• Ability to operate laboratory instrumentation including maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to perform manual methods such as cell counting and microscopic examinations
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and capillary blood collection
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and other software applications
• Ability to use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
• Ability to perform various clerical duties including faxing, scanning, copying, and filing
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to healthcare organizations and medical laboratories
• Knowledge of applicable PPE and the ability to demonstrate proper use
• Ability to work with a diverse patient group including infants, children, and adults
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Regular exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances including chemical disinfectants, and other conditions associated with a hospital environment

OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness, aiding in the prevention of cross contamination, controlling bacteria and odor and sustaining an acceptable aseptic condition
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintain floor surfaces in clean and aseptic condition; dust and wet mop, vacuum carpets, Spray buff tile and shampoo carpets when needed.
• Maintain a dust free environment by high dusting flat surfaces (i.e., TV's, light shields and ledges).
• Wash wall surfaces, to keep them clean and free from stains, and clean stairwells.
• Move furniture; replace soiled cubical curtains and window drapes.
• Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
• Stock linens water and other non-clinical supplies as needed.
• Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
• Maintain clean environment in patient rooms, sweep and mop tile floors and/or vacuum carpet. Dust furniture, light shields, base boards, ledges and window sills.
• Clean patient rest rooms, vanity area, shower and commode.
• Remove trash from patient rooms, nurse’s stations, nurse servers and public areas.
• Clean discharge beds by washing complete bed and mattresses including springs, crevices, head and foot boards, frame and casters.
• Clean nurse’s stations, utility rooms, waiting rooms, public rest rooms and keep in orderly condition.
• Wash walls, doors, and interior glass to keep them free of dust and fingerprints.
• Perform Discharge cleans and Terminal cleans on all areas needed. Log these in Housekeepers Log Book
• Remove all trash and Biohazard waste from hospital and deposit into the appropriate receptor.
• Clean trash carts trash cans and Biohazard waste containers as needed.
• Collect Sharps Containers from the nurses’ stations and patient floors and place in the Bio Hazard room following all safety precautions.
• Keep area around the dumpster clean.
• Understand all safety policies and follow proper use of PPE’s at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness in clinical/office areas including damp wipe furniture, fixtures, counter tops, telephones, file cabinets, ledges, base tile, etc.
• Maintain clean, odor free conditions in rest rooms. Clean commodes, wash basins, chrome fixtures and polish mirrors, dust light shields and towel dispensers.
• Keep tile floors and carpeted areas clean and free of soil and debris.
• Empty and clean trash containers.
• Spot wash walls, doors and clean interior glass.
SKILLS:
• Must be able to read and speak English to comprehend directions for mixing substances and to communicate with staff, patients, and visitors
• Have the ability to understand oral and written instructions
