The Principal Business Value Consultant will be a cornerstone in this newly established PreSales team, contributing significantly to foundation, growth and overall success. This pivotal role involves leveraging comprehensive knowledge of cloud computing, digital transformation, the market’s major hyperscalers (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), FinOps, DevOps, ITAM / ITOM, application modernization, cloud migration, and more to create powerful value cases. Their primary objective is to articulate how SoftwareOne’s suite of managed services, advisory, and professional deployment/implementation services will translate into tangible value – be it in terms of growth, efficiency, productivity, or other business drivers – for our current customers and prospects.
Role & Responsibilities
• Develop and lead the formulation of key value cases showcasing SoftwareOne's services' direct impact on client business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Architects, Delivery Practitioners, Practice Leaders, customer counterparts, and other stakeholders to understand client needs and align proposed solutions with their strategic goals.
• Conduct in-depth analysis and assessments of client environments and data to identify opportunities for value creation through SoftwareOne’s services.
• Craft persuasive presentations, proposals, and documentation illustrating the value proposition of SoftwareOne's offerings.
• Act as a strategic advisor to clients, effectively communicating the potential business benefits and outcomes of engaging SoftwareOne's services.
• Continuously stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to enhance the value proposition.
• Shape and lead PreSales workshops, including discovery of business operations, technology usage, & strategic direction, to drive sales of SoftwareOne solutions & services.
• Present analyses and outcomes to all levels of business stakeholders.
• Develop thought leadership regarding market trends, value assessments collateral, case studies, value-selling sales enablement, and any changes to the overall value story SoftwareOne offers customers.
What You Offer
What we need to see from you
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Consulting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in similar role(s) within the technology industry, particularly in cloud computing, FinOps, DevOps, ITAM / ITOM, hyperscalers, application modernization, and digital transformation.
• Ability to manage and complete individual projects with little prompting.
• Strong aptitude for taking on complex topics (i.e., SQL Server licensing) and making them clear and easily understandable for customers.

Target compensation for this role will be $150,000 - $225,000(mix of base salary and bonus) and will be determined based on candidate qualifications, experience, and location.

Job Overview: Director of Value Advisory
The Director of Value Advisory is seen as a customer facing leader within the sales organization with an ability to independently lead cross-functional internal teams to work with executives and practitioners at our largest customers to help shape their organizational supply chain digitization and transformation agenda. Additionally, this role will support thought leadership and marketing strategies. The role of a Director of Value Advisory requires a combination of management consulting skills, project management skills, and executive presence. The role is designed for an ambitious business professional that is self-driven, motivated to learn, and has a passion for technology and strategy.
Essential Functions:
• Drive customer engagement activities and ensure alignment between different teams
• Build positioning, business cases and strategic roadmaps that address customers challenges
• Act as a strategic consultants to sales to help with winning strategies and their execution
• Develop strategic messaging and thought leadership
• Support development of business plans in collaboration with sales and marketing leadership through account planning and consultative customer engagements
• Contribute to evolution and development of Value Advisory practices and processes
• Take on/lead special projects relating to sales strategy
Minimum Qualifications:
• 10+ years of professional experience, minimum of 2 years of experience in management consulting or previous Value Advisory experience
• Bachelor’s degree required, post Graduate Degree an asset (MBA, CFA, CPA, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Success in designing and driving customer engagement (e.g., facilitating management and leadership workshops, Experience with IT / business alignment issues, etc.)
• Experience with benchmarking and business case development/financial modeling
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of value selling processes and methodology an asset
• Strong level of personal organization with excellent oral/written (PowerPoint) communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree required, post Graduate Degree an asset (MBA, CFA, CPA, etc.)
• Must have a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally
Location: Remote, US, travel requirement 50%
