In this role you will lead the Cost Basis Operations team based in Malvern, PA and Scottsdale, AZ. This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days per week in the office and can be located in either Pennsylvania or Arizona.
What’s the scope of the Cost Basis Operations Manager?
What experience would be gained from it?
• The role offers an opportunity to directly manage a team comprised of 4 Team Leads and 3 Specialists, across both sites, who directly support cost basis operations within Specialized Brokerage Operations in Brokerage & Investments
• The entire organization is comprised of about 35 people at all levels from contractors to team leads to specialists.
• Processing crew work directly in a third-party vendor application to ensure cost basis requests and work items are updated accurately and timely.
• As the Cost Basis Operations Manger you’ll play a key role in ensuring that all processes to support accurate cost basis reporting are conducted with a strong focus on risk mitigation.
• While cost basis is used required for tax reporting purposes, it is used by multiple other areas of the organization including Mobile, Web and Advice.
• Through this role you’ll have the opportunity to build deep relationships with internal business partners.

In this role you will:
1. Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
2. Champion the implementation of service enhancements, growth strategies, and process changes across the department. Foster a team environment driven by open communication, decisiveness, clear direction, teamwork, and accountability.
3. Enhance the team's operational delivery by driving process optimization, technology enhancements, or act as a key liaison across teams and external vendors.
4. Assess regular operational metrics and track outputs against goals to determine team performance in real-time on a regular basis. Connect the team's daily goals to the long-term vision of the department.
5. Collaborate with internal colleagues to ensure appropriate regulatory oversight, service execution, and control and risk management procedures.
6. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
What it takes:
• Minimum five years of related experience required. Two years' experience in operations processing preferred.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
• Prior leadership experience, leading leaders
• Experience in Cost basis and Operations Management
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping, nice to have

The IOPS Service Manager will support the crew in Arizona responsible for the execution of daily IOPS Service responsibilities that includes Equity Middle Office (MO), Fixed Income MO, and Muni MO. The leader will be in cross team initiatives and global projects that apply investment and functional expertise to drive business results. The manager will be responsible for influencing departmental strategies focused on the near term (1-3 year).
The Fund & Investment Operations- Investment Support Manager:
• Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
• Develops and implements the team's operational framework. Leads collaboration between leaders to ensure regional and global consistency of process implementation. Consults and advises key stakeholders, acts as subject matter and technical expert, identifies and resolves complex operational issues. Leads internal control framework improvements and formulates strategic recommendations.
• Proactively identifies and mitigates external events and regulatory changes that impact team. Oversees various control standards to ensure compliance globally.
• Leads improvement initiatives designed to enhance the team's response and preparedness to portfolio events and proactively anticipates portfolio events. Performs root cause analysis and applies findings to global process improvement efforts.
• Demonstrates strong industry-wide investment management knowledge and provides thought leadership to global teams. Understands key drivers that impact the team and its clients, utilizing knowledge to identify opportunities that enable service to continuously improve. Fosters investment acumen development on team.
• Leads improvement initiatives to anticipate business needs and portfolio events. Develops tools to streamline and improve service delivery.
• Manages cross divisional stakeholders’ relationship and sets service level agreements with the front office.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes:
• Minimum of seven years related work experience, with at least two years of Investment Operations experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting or Finance degree preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
• CFA or other financial designation preferred.
