Environmental Factors

Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Occasional trips outdoors when verifying vehicle identification numbers. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to travel to other offices with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Overtime work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) or more years of work experience in a customer or client service role such as retail, hospitality or government that included significant public contact and regular use of computer programs.

OR

Four (4) or more months of work experience in the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles in licensing or registration meeting proficiency standards set by the Department.

Special Note: The incumbent will serve customers promptly and efficiently while maintaining the minimum production level of 3+ transactions per hour with a 1% or less error rate. The incumbent will be proficient in license or registration. The incumbent will be proficient in 2 or more of the job duties referenced on the matrix for a minimum of 4 months showing proficiency. These requirements will be scrutinized by the respective department and supervising managers.

Overview

The Vermont Attorney General’s Office, Agency of Human Services Legal Division, has an immediate opening for an energetic and talented full-time Assistant Attorney General who will be responsible for representing the Department of Vermont Health Access in state courts in Medicaid recovery actions, including estate and third-party recovery and in appeals before the Human Services Board from decisions made by the health exchange, Vermont Health Access, as well as all Medicaid appeals from long term care, and Medicaid coverage. Description

Located in Waterbury, the Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for handling litigation in Vermont Civil and Probate Courts. Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be capable of working as part of a team.

As a Financial Manager III, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Fund Management
• Budget monitoring, review, and analysis
• Financial reporting and account reconciliation
• Utilizing VTHR and VISION, the State's Peoplesoft based financial management system
• Collaborating with IT staff & leaders, including our CFO
• Process document creation and maintenance
• Providing support to other business office functions
• You'll work out of our Montpelier, VT office with a small team of finance and accounting professionals and will collaborate with other agency/department business offices and ADS staff. We are seeking candidates with a background in accounting and/or finance and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, but additional years of work experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree may be qualifying.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in a variety of settings, including open floorplan office, producer and market sites, and public events, project sites and potential hearing and legislative settings. Frequent in-state, regional, and out-of-state travel is involved for which private reliable means of transportation must be available. Frequent public communication and presentations, both verbally and in writing, is expected.
