Summary of Role & Responsibilities

The Product Owner is the technical solution owner for Vision’s Tax solutions. The product owner deeply partners with the Delivery team and internal stakeholders to understand customer problems/needs and is responsible for translating the prioritized roadmap into clearly understandable, highly actionable, simplified technical requirements in the form of user stories to help development deliver customer value quickly, fully, and with high quality

Key roles & responsibilities include
• Own the success of targeted customer upgrades by partnering with product management and engineering to deliver ongoing customer value and achieve business objectives
• Translate the product delivery roadmap to clear, concise, and actionable user stories complete with acceptance criteria that development can execute against
• Operate as scrum master of team, coordinating and facilitating scrum sprint ceremonies
• Continuously evaluate development results to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality
• Continuously evaluate development results from sprint to sprint to optimize productivity, efficiency, and quality of releases
• Track usage and product support metrics to balance planned development effort with support escalation work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to bring the product vision, roadmap, and appropriate areas of technical debt elimination into the product backlog, capturing user needs as user stories, practicing user-centered design concepts
• Manage the product backlog and own the prioritization of upcoming sprints
• Collaborate with the Delivery team and extended teams to ensure the product backlog is visible with prioritized work and ongoing status communicated
• Work closely with the Sales team to develop and execute successful customer management strategies
• Create and maintain appropriate product release documentation for reference by Tech Support and customer facing content development
• Serve as a subject matter expert and product spokesperson for your product portfolio

Nevertheless, it certainly doesn’t hurt to have a wealth of technical experience. Below is a list of experiences that would help you succeed in this role. It’s okay if you don’t meet each item if you are willing to dig into the challenges and learn fast!
• 5 years of experience in a product owner or product management role
• Technical aptitude and familiarity to understand technical challenges, make educated trade-offs, and influence architectural decisions
• Adept at developing a relationship with the relevant product and development managers to align the tactical capabilities with the strategic direction
• Strong analytical skills and data driven product decision-making mindset
• Demonstrated ability to influence and lead projects and initiatives from concept to delivery including defining and driving plans and timelines, weekly deliverables, and solving problems along the way
• Experience with agile software development practices (e.g., scrum, Kanban, Lean Agile) and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, project plans)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence and collaboration skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
