The Village Voice is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in pursuing a career in marketing, events, and social media to assist the marketing department on a part-time basis during the Fall 2016 semester. You must be eligible to receive academic credit!

• Assist with street team promotions and marketing campaigns

Key Result Areas & Task Accountabilities
• Drive new revenue opportunities through direct selling and leverage of past clients and contacts
• Define sales strategies and execute plan for National Sales
• Set, meet and exceed sales goals through prospecting, qualifying, managing and closing team's sales opportunities in new and existing accounts
• Build sales talent pipeline; coach, train, motivate and grow sales staff
• Plan and direct sales staff activities and objectives to maximize sales volume as well as identify employee performance goals and measurements, partnering with them to obtain positive results
• Develop and manage sales pipeline, prospect and assess sales, and move a large number of transactions simultaneously through the sales pipeline
• Practice effective, excellent communication with direct reports, management, customers and support staff
• Provide feedback and input around new marketing and lead generation programs
• Identify and provide management with training requirements for performance improvement
• Provide requirements to marketing, circulation, and other departments to ensure that the sales team has the up-to-date information it needs to be successful
• Provide regular reporting of pipeline and forecast and performance to senior leadership team
• Keep abreast of the industry, market, competition, competitive issues and products
Qualifications
• 2 or more years of sales management with experience in managing inside and outside selling resources
• Strong time management, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills
• Exceptional leadership skills: ability to play all the leadership roles such as coach, mentor, trainer and supervisor. Strong management, organizational and decision-making skills are critical
• Ability to collaborate with company-wide divisions to ensure quality customer service
• Strong track record at building strategies around generating leads and qualifying the needs of those prospects
• Consistent and documented over-achievement of sales goals in the NYC marketplace
• Willingness to impact the success of the entire team by leading by example while creating consistency, diplomacy, and fostering a collaborative culture throughout the organization
• Exceptional relationship building and listening skills
• Experienced in recruiting, interviewing and selection processes to successfully identify appropriate staff to meet the needs of the business
