Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate courses in foundational drawing and design as well as other courses in the area of expertise, if available.

Minimum Qualifications

MFA required. We are seeking a candidate working primarily in 2D fields. The successful candidate must have expertise in the discourse around contemporary art as well as contemporary issues around drawing and design, and knowledge of the medium's history.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum qualifications, a proven exhibition record and demonstration of excellence in teaching are desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach mainly studio courses in drawing and design. The ability to teach digital courses or Art Appreciation is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Advanced knowledge in their area of specialty; excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues, and the skills necessary for successful teaching, advising, and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility. Minimal physical effort.

The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties assigned in positions allocated to this classification. • Drive mobile units safely to and from scheduled locations for site visits at designated times.
• Set up mobile unit at the designated location to be secure for program staff and visitors to the mobile unit. Make sure generator, air conditioning, heating, and other facilities are working properly.
• Driver may be required to stay on board for the duration of the visit or be required to make sure mobile unit is secure and return home until visit has ended. Once visit has ended, driver is required to return to mobile unit and return it to designated parking area.
• At the end of each visit, make sure all materials are stored away correctly and unit is prepared for transport. Mobile unit should be returned to designated parking area at the end of each visit.
• Transport mobile unit to maintenance appointments and back to designated parking area once maintenance has been conducted.
• Check vehicles weekly and attend to any maintenance needs so vehicle are ready for travel. Examples of maintenance needs include: making minor repairs and changing tires as needed, inspecting vehicle and checking fluid levels prior to departure.
• Any other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
• Valid MS CDL License.
• Valid Driver's License and the ability to travel as required during performance of assigned tasks.
• No history of serious traffic or serious driving violations.
• Pass initial drug tests. Regular drug tests may be required throughout employment period.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
