PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES & FUNCTIONS
• Collaborate with marketing and communications team to develop innovative annual content strategy that tells the Visit Myrtle Beach story to build the destination brand, inspires visitation, builds community and engagement.
• Management of content strategy and plan, including the production of articles, videos, social media posts, website content, podcasts, and email content to achieved defined program goals and objectives.
• Manage content creators, including contract management, work assignments, budgets, and fulfilment of planned or agreed deliverables.
• Social media program management, including collaborating with internal staff and agency partners on the development of social media content that features the destination and CVB partners.
• Collaborate with marketing and group sales team on development of copy/content visitor guides and planners, as well as other collateral as needed.
• Collaborate with marketing team with integration and alignment with communications programs.
• Maintain excellent content records, including calendars, schedules, themes, and tracking of all content produced, including documenting partners featured in content produced.
• Work with agency partners to measure and monitor content and social media programs to ensure all program goals are met or exceeded and make recommendations for improvements.
• Other duties as assigned by the CMO and VP, Brand and Communications.
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Bachelor’s degree with accredited college/university in communications, marketing or related is preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in communications and/or preferably in the not-for-profit industry is required.
• Experienced computer skills in an online CMS and/or CRM system, as well as project management tools. Social media experience and expertise. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and content development skills with emphasis on storytelling, copywriting, web, and social content. Good punctuation, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail a must.
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects while meeting established timelines and schedules in fast-paced environment to create, design, and produce innovative marketing, content and programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to measure effectiveness of programs and optimize as needed.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of marketing with emphasis on tourism marketing and promotions.
• Must embrace and demonstrate a “Continuous Improvement” approach to problem solving and process enhancement.
• Strong interpersonal skills essential. Must possess and demonstrate a collaborative, team-oriented approach to conducting the operations of the chamber staff.

Provide clear communication to City departments of proper rules and regulations for submittal, approval and management of grants as defined in the City of Myrtle Beach Grant Policy Manual.
Maintain a high level of awareness of the internal workings of the City of Myrtle Beach and actively participate in continued learning programs, webinars, conferences, and events related grant management and reporting in order to identify funding opportunities ranging from one-time needs such as equipment to long-term projects that may require multiple levels of funding.
Balance multiple projects, proposals, and deadlines across different departments.
Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants management process.
Keep relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables.
Communicate with granting agencies.
Track status of grant requests.
Ensure departments are maintaining financial records and compliance reports as required by the grantor and City of Myrtle Beach.
Provide periodic reports to the Assistant to the City Manager and Chief Financial Officer on grant activity and management.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate solid skills in communication, editing, presentation, interpersonal relationships, and organizational ability.

Work with the Grants Supervisor to assess Department and City needs and select which funding best matches the goals of a project.
Perform relevant research to identify funding/grant/sponsorship/donor opportunities to support an array of projects and evaluate the result. Prepare well-structured grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation. Provide clear communication to City departments of proper rules and regulations for submittal, approval and management of grants as defined in the City of Myrtle Beach Grant Policy Manual.
Maintain a high level of awareness of the internal workings of the City of Myrtle Beach and actively participate in continued learning programs, webinars, conferences, and events related grant management and reporting in order to identify funding opportunities ranging from one-time needs such as equipment to long-term projects that may require multiple levels of funding.
Balance multiple projects, proposals, and deadlines across different departments.
Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants management process.
Keep relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables.
Communicate with granting agencies.
Track status of grant requests.
Ensure departments are maintaining financial records and compliance reports as required by the grantor and City of Myrtle Beach.
Provide periodic reports to the Assistant to the City Manager and Chief Financial Officer on grant activity and management.

Operates a variety of standard and specialized machinery, equipment, and tools associated with law enforcement.
Operates a personal computer, general office equipment or other equipment as necessary.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
May perform special operations/details such as crime prevention/analysis, Real-time Crime, Intelligence-Led Policing, training, teaching, and/or other duties as assigned.
May escort individuals or groups who are entering or leaving city buildings.
May provide law enforcement and public safety support as a Class III Officer, to include assisting with crowd and traffic control; security in the courtroom, airport, and other facilities.
May conduct background investigations on applicants for various positions within the police department.
May provide escorts for Property & Evidence technicians to drop-off and pick-up locations.
May operate the city’s Info Line during large events or peak hours.
May conduct data entry of arrest reports, charging documents, or other reports completed by other employees.
May schedule and lead tours of police department facilities.
May act as Court Liaison to: assist with officer attendance; maintain shared JRL court calendar and communicate with Clerks office regarding required pickups; provide Detention with a list of prisoner pickups in a timely manner; verify guilty pleas and those that need to return to court; ensure officers complete re-writes.
May complete mobile-name-candidating in JMS.
May enter hand-written “blue” tickets into the RMS citation module.
High school diploma or GED; previous experience in law enforcement or some public relations experience in a similar police/law enforcement or related environment preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license. Must be at least 21-years of age. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the following certifications: South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Class III Law Enforcement Officer Certification. Must be qualified to operate a firearm. May be required to attain and maintain other certifications as related to assignment.
