Role - Investment Associate

Harpoon is seeking an associate for our San Diego office to support our growing organization. Candidates should be knowledgeable in financial markets and emerging technology, uniquely experienced and biased toward action and results. You will work directly with the investment team to support specific aspects of pre and post-investment workflow. This role will be demanding – consist of market and technical research, investment diligence and other activities critical to informed decision-making. You will play an integral role in scaling our organization’s key functions in a way that presents an incredible opportunity for professional growth. You will gain first-hand exposure to the top enterprise startups, VC firms, and limited partners. Qualifications

• Required: 3+ years of investment banking experience
• Have strong presentation skills, from verbal and written communication to professional PowerPoint and Excel production.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and being adept at financial modeling and reporting, including income statement and cashflow forecast development and five-year growth projections.
• Transaction experience in executing financial and operational due diligence is necessary.
• Experience balancing multiple transaction timelines simultaneously for companies ranging in size.
• Be able to successfully explain investment rationale, including risks and opportunities of a particular investment opportunity.
• Be a self-starter and add value in each stage of the transaction, from lead development to closing documentation.
