ATGPAC is responsible for the training and certification of all ships in the Pacific Fleet. Training standards and requirements are continually evolving and expanding, requiring increased manpower and flexibility. ATGPAC has a continuing requirement to provide the US Pacific Fleet with training to conduct effective naval and joint operations across the spectrum of combat operations. ATGPAC’s mission is to provide dynamic, quality afloat training to Navy and Coast Guard Sailors to ensure a combat-ready force capable of performing a broad spectrum of maritime missions. Special emphasis is placed on training ships’ training teams, special evolution teams, and watch teams to institutionalize the onboard capability to sustain and improve combat readiness throughout a deployment cycle.
ATGPAC’s distributed training are computer-based simulation and/or Live, Virtual Constructive (LVC) events which is conducted in the ATGSD Battle Lab. Distributed training is defined as live or synthetic services, used to train or certify ships that are non-organic to ship/s being trained or certified. The following are distributed training events: Final Battle Problem at-sea (FBP), FST-U, BMD, AW/SW/EW Training and Certification, Monthly Inport Training Exercise (MITE), ATG Ship’s Entity Test/ATG Ships Tactical Training (ASET/ASTT), and STW Certification. ATGPAC Battle Lab distributes exercise scenarios and conducts training over the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE), Tactical Data Links (TDL), Mission Distribution System (MDS), Battle Force Team Trainer (BFTT), and Global Command and Control System – Maritime (GCCS-M).
To accomplish this training, ATGPAC relies on Tactical Training Group Pacific to distribute virtual training to ships and other training facilities, as directed in the Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) Program. TTGP has been designated as Commander, Pacific Fleet’s (CPF) Executive Agent (EA) for the CPF Distributed Training Architecture (DTA), which consists of the Navy’s Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) and other command and control (C2) related systems. TTGP is the primary Pacific Fleet persistent NCTE node as well as the site for a persistent node for the Joint National Training Capability Training and Enterprise Network (JTEN).
Requirements
Required Operational Experience
Must have experience in scenario development/training and configuration and operation for one or more of the following systems:
• Modeling and Simulation, Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF), Multi-System Automated Remote Control and Instrumentation (MARCI)
• Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), and Battle Force Team Trainer (BFTT)
• Must have experience operating a Navy tactical training type of military system such as BFTT, JSAF and MARCI System and Tactical
• Voice/Data Communications
• Must have experience as a Fleet or Carrier Strike Group TLAM Officer/Assistant.
• Experience as a Launch Area Coordinator in Strike Group or Tasking Authority/Tomahawk Executive Agent
• Must have knowledge of the following systems: Gateway Manager and Link Management Monitoring Tool
Ideal Applicant Shall have knowledge of:
• The Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM)
• Composite Warfare Commander construct
• Command and Control, regarding surveillance, engagement and planning functions required for each of the various numbered fleets
• Staff and Fleet operations and planning procedures
• Fleet Synthetic Training architecture
Education
Bachelor of Science (BS) preferred
Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
