WCJB TV20, serving the Gainesville/Ocala/Lake City, FL market, has an opening for a Sports Director to manage our 2-person sports department. This is not a Monday-Friday job! WCJB TV20 has a strong brand for our high school football coverage. Sports Overtime is our Friday night high school football segment. We have as many as 10 shooters providing highlights for this broadcast. Our SD also shoots that night as well as producing and anchoring the broadcast. You'll be helping young sports journalists develop along the way, including our weekend Sports Anchor/Multimedia Journalist. Our new SD will also take charge of TV20 Sports on wcjb.com. Our brand is multi-platform, and so are you! Come lead the #1 sports team in North Central Florida!
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Anchoring the 6pm and 11pm sportscasts Monday – Friday
• Being a working sports reporter, working as an MMJ to cover local sports stories of importance to our community
• Travel often to big Gator sports events, like bowl games, NCAA tournament appearances, and potentially to Omaha to see the new College World Series champs defend their title
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Strong writing and journalism skills are a must for this role
• Ability to shoot, edit (Final Cut X)
• Able to run a TVU live kit
• Previous experience writing for web and broadcast is required
• Eligible candidates must have 3 years of experience in a sports anchor role

WCJB seeks a dynamic Web Producer/Video Editor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts and online content. This position will also work closely with the Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and news staff on the newscast and web/social media content. In this position, you will edit video, work within the newscasts as a writer and writer/associate producer, and also develop content for all our digital platforms.

WCJB TV20 has a strong brand for our high school football coverage. Sports Overtime is our Friday night high school football segment. We have as many as 10 shooters providing highlights for this broadcast. Our SD and Weekend Sports Anchor and also shoot that night as well as producing and anchoring the broadcast. WCJB TV20 is now -time News currently accepting applications for a full-time News Producer to join the #1-rated news team in North Central Florida.
We’re looking for a producer who wants to join a great news station with a chance to learn quickly through on-the-job training and hopefully move up within our operation. You’ll be producing urgent, impactful shows, writing stories, editing, and taking an active role in producing social media and web content. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is helpful and not required.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Prioritize, organize, and produce newscasts
• Maintain working knowledge of current events, community issues, and local contacts
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Demonstrate solid news judgment
• Maintain strong journalistic ethic
• Strong initiative and attention to detail
• Be creative and create compelling and memorable newscasts
