We are looking for creative, dynamic, and natural storytellers – someone who brings professionalism, energy, confidence and personality to our team. Ideal candidates will be self-starters, effective at delivering accurate weather forecasts and information to our 30+ million TV households across the country. Ideal candidates will have severe weather and tropical experience, and knowledge of weather patterns around the country. Weekend coverage and weekday flexibility to cover breaking weather-related events is required. Since WeatherNation is on 24 hours a day, candidate must be willing and able to change work schedule based on the needs of the network.
Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences degree required. Minimum of 2-5 years’ on-air experience. Ability to meet strict deadlines. Excellent attention to detail. Outstanding ability to process meteorological data on a national basis and provide accurate, timely and meaningful information to viewers. Experience with Baron’s OMNI and/or Lynx and VIPIR systems preferred, but not necessary.
Responsibilities include:
• * Prepare and push forward graphics and weather stories for current and upcoming shifts
• Keep website updated with latest information on top weather headlines
• * Keep station’s social media platforms current, relevant and meaningful to viewers
• * Proactive in developing and executing creative weather content and stories
• Thrive in a team environment where all roles rely on each other for success
Salary Range: $50,000-$100,000 (Shift Differential added for morning hours)

The TD is responsible for the technical quality of the signal being recorded or broadcast and will use various measuring devices and displays to ensure quality control. Familiarity with the Tricaster 8000 is preferred but not required.
We are expanding this position to also encompass Editing duties as well so familiarity with Adobe in regards to cutting and editing field packages from raw data is preferred. This is a very fast paced live studio environment so the ability to think on your feet is a must. Salary Range: $17.50-$22.00/Hour

Here, you work with meteorologists to produce seven minute live shows throughout the day. During severe weather, you produce breaking news coverage for the duration of the event. Primary duties include setting up lives with our field teams and NWS field offices, seeking video content on the internet, editing VO’s, SOT’s, PKG’s and writing for our social media and digital platforms. Experience with Adobe products is a plus, but not required.
This position requires a flexible schedule which may include weekends or early morning shifts. You must have the ability to work assisted and unassisted as necessary in a deadline driven environment. This is a great job for the meteorology student who has just graduated or a broadcast producer who is looking for something completely different from producing a local affiliate newscast.
Salary Range: $40,000-$60,000
