Platform for shaping the future of urban transformation aims to advance public-private collaboration in cities, enabling more resilient and future-ready communities and local economies. The Platform for Shaping the Future of Urban Transformation is looking for a recent university graduate with background knowledge in research and project management to assist with the consolidation efforts across the Forum on initiative related to SMEs. This individual will have the opportunity to work with strategic intelligence, data policy, trade, and advanced manufacturing teams, among others, to shape a unified global initiative and campaign. Reason for Hiring The World Economic Forum platform for Shaping the Future of Urban Transformation is developing a work stream with an aim to building the foundation for more future-ready and resilient local economies. The Early Career Programme Trainee will have the opportunity to work for 6 months to help building and scoping this new initiative. This initiative builds on the Forum’s work to increase the competitiveness and future-readiness of small and medium sized enterprises which includes national-level partnerships in Azerbaijan, Brazil, Colombia, Kazakhstan, South Africa and Turkey, as well as new urban testbeds for economic development in eight of the world’s fast-growing cities: Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Lagos, Dhaka, Jakarta, Kigali, Nairobi, Kigali and Rio de Janeiro. This is a flagship initiative of the World Economic Forum’s new global Centre for Urban Transformation which was established last fall and will be a key topic at high-profile events including the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters (January 2023) and Urban Transformation Summit in Detroit (October 2023). The selected candidate will be responsible for This role will place you on the front line of engaging with global leaders and subject matter experts. The work will focus on supporting, scoping, and managing new areas of work related to the advancement of local economies in cities. This includes activities such as supporting the consolidation and launch of the second phase of the SME Futures Network initiative and scoping a new initiative around global innovation hubs. Key activities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Developing/improving theory of change and methodology Setting project milestones and timeline Identifying and coordinating key stakeholders Develop and deliver outcome-oriented communications strategies Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders Help organize and manage high-profile events, workshops and meetings (both virtual and in-person) with key stakeholders and global leaders Preferred requirements and experience Master’s degree in public policy or related field, 1-2 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent is advantageous Demonstrated organizational, planning and communication skills (verbal, written and editorial); perfect command of verbal and written English Broad intellectual background, ideally with subject matter expertise in the field of IoT, digital governance, and/or cybersecurity and digital policy Experience in project management, community management, and strategic partnership building in a multicultural environment, consulting background is an advantage Experience and comfort working on matters involving administrative and coordination support Strong command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management) Vaccination requirement The Forum LLC requires that employees be fully vaccinated with at least one booster against COVID-19 by their first day of employment. The Digital Success Specialist is responsible for increasing internal users' digital adoption and engaging constituents by providing support, training and learning content on technology applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Promote and create excitement around new digital features and innovations through Forum products and platforms
Build a digital-first culture and participate to change management efforts by providing support, training and learning content
Help users build communities and projects on Salesforce and publish them on TopLink (Forum's digital and knowledge-sharing platform)
Manage bugs, follow-up with product managers/developers, feedback loop to the users
Improve digital products by sharing user feedback and ideas with product managers
Design and develop instructional and responsive e-learning content related to products with learning authoring tools, developed internally or externally
Provide training to individuals and groups of users on the technology core applications, face-to-face or remotely (tutorials, online-embedded guided tours, FAQs, decks)
Provide day-to-day support and deliver on-site technology support at Forum events
Qualifications and Skills
Broad intellectual background with a master's degree (or equivalent) in business administration or related field
Five to eight years of relevant industry experience in IT product support, training and instructional design for consumer-facing digital products
Additional industry experience in one of the following is desirable:
CRM, customer experience, web/customer analytics or similar
Customer empathy and an enthusiasm for genuinely improving how businesses serve and engage people
A solid understanding of technical infrastructure and coding practices
Salesforce.com experience is a plus, as is familiarity with Jira or similar issue-tracking software
Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have strong motivation and enthusiasm for the Forum's mission
Ability to travel overseas a few times a year
