Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated students to be a part of our summer intern program. These paid summer internship opportunities are designed to jump start your career, offering on-the-job training and a robust summer of events. As an intern with WD, you'll work alongside technology industry professionals on real-world projects, giving you the tools and experience to get your career off the ground. Additionally, the interns will attend networking events, participate in workshops, and present to the WD leadership team.
As a summer intern working within the Capacity Enterprise Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Recording Sub-Systems (RSS) Firmware organization, you will be working within a technical team responsible for developing firmware features that support the RSS goal of increasing drive capacity while maintaining or improving reliability performance and cost. You will own and participate in projects related to HDD optimization firmware design, implementation, validation, test development, and failure analysis.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Development of real time firmware code required for hard disk drive performance optimization features
• Participate in firmware design, implementation, testing failure analysis, and documentation
• Code quality refactoring and test development/enhancement including feature porting, unit testing, and manufacturing integration testing
• Involvement in RSS (Recording Sub-system) feature algorithm development using AI/ML algorithms and/or manufacturing control learning loops
• Collaborate and work effectively as a member of a multi-site agile engineering development team
Qualifications
• Current student, pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field graduating between December 2024 and June 2025
• C/C++ development skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in data storage industry
• Excellent problem solving abilities

Job Description
The mission of Product Planning is to manage production for key product lines to ensure that quarterly demand is reliably met, and that WD achieves its financial targets. To accomplish this, Product Planning team members regularly analyze and publish production plans and material requisition plans, working to match supply to demand in the most cost-effective manner.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
I2 Plan Management
• Daily review of I2 Plan for assigned products. Optimizing loading plan, diagnosing fill rate shortages
• Management of I2 Production Flows
• Publish Material Requisition Plan for assigned products
Coordinating with Cross-Functional Teams
• Work with NPI Team to prepare and manage through production ramp of new products
• Coordinate with Asia Planning and Execution for production firming, manual launches
• Work with Capacity Planning, Silicon Planning, and Procurement to coordinate all elements of supply
• Connect with Inventory Management team to manage excess and/or create disposition plans
• Work with Demand Planning, BU, and Sales Ops to understand demand conditions and to align on production strategy
• Analyze scenario requests from Sales or BU, for example pull in requests, WIP check, or other ad-hoc queries
Reporting to Key Stakeholders
• Provide status updates to Operations and BU Leadership teams on production status
Qualifications
Required:
• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering/Supply Chain Management, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant work experience in Supply Chain Planning/Procurement
• Understanding of supply chain best practices
Skills
• Good communication skills with the ability to work with multiple organizations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Great teammate, highly motivated, ambitious, and a quick learner
• Extensive data analytical skills including advanced knowledge of MS Excel, VBA, SQL, and Tableau
• Experience with Advanced Planning Systems such as i2 and SAP

We are looking for a talented and innovative Firmware Developer to join our team! As a Firmware Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that power high-volume hard disk drives. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining firmware components using best-practice firmware development methodologies.

X-Ray Equipment Technician / Analyst
Western Digital, the premiere producer of storage solutions including hard disk drives (WD and G-Technology brands) and solid-state drives (SanDisk brand), is seeking an equipment technician to maintain and perform analyses on our fleet of Rigaku and Panalytical X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and X-Ray Reflectivity (XRR) instruments. Magnetic media used to store information in hard drives is composed of stacks of thin films ranging from angstroms to tens of nanometers in thickness. The primary purpose of our work is to characterize these stacks of thin-films in support of the next generation of media technology. • Agile in addressing troubleshooting issues and service requests

Job Description
• Agile in addressing troubleshooting issues and service requests
• Partner and drive physical security operations and systems technology with internal business units like IT, Real Estate, Legal, EH&S, Finance, Procurement when required
• Strategically improve system end users experience on a variety of applications
• Define physical security systems and technology roadmaps that drive overall program success
• Skilled in presenting solutions at a high level to internal key stakeholders
• Integrate and perform case studies, conduct research into product requirements to improve security systems and technology
• Familiar with internal tools, tracking and reviewing requests such as ServiceNow, Smartsheet, etc.
• Assist in deployment of enterprise level access control systems, video management systems, visitor management systems, etc.
• Work with multiple third-party vendors and SOCs to help maintain the global standard in security systems and technology
• Familiar with Windows, Linux and SQL, Networking, and IoT devices
• You will work to integrate a variety of security devices into existing network infrastructure including but not limited to: PSIM, C-Cure, Lenel, AMAG, Milestone, AXIS, ISOS, SWN, etc.
• Participate, oversee and drive project meetings and execute end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery
• Configuring and maintaining U.S Security Systems, including hardware, system software, and security applications.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
• Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
• Researching and recommending new approaches or system to improve the security system infrastructure. Enhance the current security model.
• Providing technical support when requested or be available at the site for further assistance.
• Works with users to identify system requirements; develops processing procedures and systems modifications to meet these specifications.
• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases.
• Document any processes, which employees need to follow in order to successfully work within our security systems
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the security industry, with at least 2 years of direct responsibility in systems integration and technology
• Proficiency with Access Control, Video Management Systems, Security Hardware, Locks, Sensors, IoT devices etc.

Job Description
The Vice President/Deputy Compliance Officer is responsible for providing strategic and legal guidance regarding Western Digital's compliance program. This includes leading and overseeing the Company's Global Import and Export Compliance, Antibribery and Anticorruption (ABAC), IP Compliance, and Data Analytics within the Ethics and Compliance department.
This broad role ensures enterprise-wide compliance with Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) regulations and programs, economic and trade sanctions programs, Trade Agreement Act (TAA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act (UKBA), Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA), other applicable trade, corruption and trade secret laws and regulations in countries where Western Digital operates, and WDC's Global Code of Conduct. The Vice President/Deputy Compliance Officer will drive implementation of third-party risk management controls within procurement and sales business processes, lead the ABAC team in managing risk-based diligence processes for third parties and overseeing conflicts of interest disclosure processes, advise the Company on distributor channel compliance and technology/trade secret solutions, and partner with many high-level stakeholders in the Company to provide guidance on new and emerging trade compliance regulations. To support the above objectives, the Vice President/Deputy Compliance Officer will lead global teams that implement and act upon compliance risk assessments, design and deliver global training and communications to drive and sustain a strong culture of compliance, use data analytics to ensure compliance through monitoring and testing and provide budget and other day-to-day operational support to subject matter experts within the Ethics and Compliance function.
Successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to:
• Direct the creation and maintenance of effective compliance policies and guidelines;
• Develop and implement a data-driven compliance monitoring capability based on data analytics applied to enterprise level Company data sources;
• Provide clear and timely guidance and advice to ensure WDC and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and partners comply fully with all applicable compliance laws and regulations, including the EAR, OFAC and other sanctions programs, TAA, CBP, FCPA, UKBA, DTSA and other U.S. and international regulations;
• Advise and lead on drafting of strategic export licenses and other regulatory filings;
• Monitor legal, regulatory, and trade developments that impact WDC's business and deliver clear and timely legal guidance to mitigate impacts;
• Develop and deliver ABAC, IP and execute risk-based trade compliance trainings and communications;
• Collaborate with various business functions (including colleagues in Internal Audit, Legal, Finance/Tax, HR, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales, Corporate Strategy) to understand their business priorities and build integrated, upstream and forward-looking compliance processes;
• Lead projects to enhance compliance efficiency and value contribution;
• Lead the development of specific compliance risk roadmap and strategic planning; and
• Promote a global and enterprise-wide business culture of compliance and ethics and conduct other compliance activities.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
• 15+ years of practice in a law firm or as an in-house attorney
• J.D. or equivalent degree from accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in United States (California or Washington D.C., preferred)
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Experience in building and leading trade and antibribery compliance functions in a multinational company;
• Strategic thought leader with business acumen and ability to make good decisions based on sound judgement;
• Strong presentation skills and executive presence;
• Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills, most importantly the ability to distill complex legal concepts into simple terms easily digestible by business;
• Knowledge of U.S. export controls and sanctions regulations;
• Knowledge of import compliance including Country of Origin determinations, valuation and HTS classifications, tariff programs;
• Knowledge of FCPA, UKBA and antibribery regulations and enforcement regimes;
• Excellent legal research and writing skills;
• Experience in managing outside counsels and budget;
• Experience in working, managing and driving multi-functional projects to completion;
• Flexible, hardworking team player and motivator with strong people skills;
• Action- and results-oriented and instills trust;
• Experience with ethics and compliance program management and/or development;
• Experience and strong track record leading and developing top-notch talent and high functioning, highly engaged teams;
• Resilient and able to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs;
