The Department of Psychology at Wichita State University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professorship for the academic year beginning in August 2023.The successful candidate will become a core member of the Human Factors program at Wichita State, which is fully accredited by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Specialty area is open but candidates must have training in Human Factors and an applied research program. Preference will be given to candidates whose research complements existing faculty emphasis areas, including but not limited to automation, augmented and virtual reality, transportation (e.g., surface, air, space, or water), robotics, neuroergonomics, health care/medical, aging, and sustainability.
Summary of Responsibilities: Applicants for the position must have a Ph.D. in Psychology by fall 2023, a record of research productivity, an ability to attract external funding, the ability to interact collegially, a commitment to teaching both graduate students and undergraduates, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity. The department is research-oriented and expects faculty to seek external funding.
