Position
Summary:
Under general direction of the VP of Operations, plans and implements sales strategies, both short and long term, aligning with the company budget.
Responsible for the growth, reporting and development of the revenue of an approximately $15 million Wine Club/Tasting Room team.
Responsible for the professional development of a mid-size Management team, leading each direct report to an end goal of cohesive decision-making with organizational success at the forefront.
Ability to proactively identify areas of growth within areas of control that result in accelerated change-management, operational updates, and Executive feedback sessions.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Temecula, California.
Essential Job Duties &
Responsibilities:
Develops and implements strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for on premise products and services.
Develops and manages all sales operations for Tasting Room and Wine Club budgets.
Develops annual budget of the department with full P and L responsibilities.
Responsible for staff hiring, orientation and training.
Ensures adherence to all departmental and organizational policies.
Responsible for the analytics and reporting of incentive goals and club memberships for Tasting Room staff.
Responsible for the development of the leadership and staff of the Tasting Room and Wine Club.
Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the Tasting Room, Guest Relations, First Impression and Wine Club operations.
Provides in-depth mentoring, coaching and performance development to all direct and indirect reports.
Responsible for the Leadership Development of each reporting staff, providing tangible results related to competence in related areas.
Collaborates closely with Human Resources to ensure staff receive the appropriate counseling and provides opportunities for improvement.
Directs Wine Club Manager regarding wine club memberships (types, shipments, retention, etc.
).
Along with Wine Club Manager, continues to grow the Wine Club Membership in the local market and by continuing plans to continue expansion across the U.
S.
Actively promotes an atmosphere of collaboration within the organization in alignment with the Core Values.
Works closely with marketing for advertising and promotion activities.
Participates in the development and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Prepares all reports and KPI's of sales activity and reports including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual revenues showing analysis by customer, product type, varietal, and other pertinent sales categories and presents to Vice President of Operations and CEO.
Directs sales and inventory forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Collaborates with the Wine group to facilitate timely releases of wine following SOP.
Perform other duties as requested.
What It Takes To Succeed:
BA or BS degree required, preferably in Business Management, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
Tenure, relevant role/experience may be considered as meeting the educational requirement.
Seven to ten years' experience in a related role, specifically responsible for sales goals for multiple business units.
A similar size winery, restaurant chain or high-volume night club is highly desired.
At least five years as a manager, preferably leading a large team including other supervisory roles.
Demonstrated knowledge of leading a large team in sales and hospitality roles.
Proven track record of achieving Sales goals.
A passion for delivering a five-star approach to Guests.
Ability to assist in development and execution of annual and departmental budget and forecasting.
Ability to lead, manage, and train staff within all regulatory requirements.
Must be willing and able to work within a team environment in a leadership role and keep good relations with other departments and Managers.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze large quantities of data originating from POS and ERP software to track daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals versus budget and prior years.
Must possess the ability to manage and forecast inventory needs based on prior sales data, and devise ways to maximize sales and conversion per guest on property.
Must provide weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to management.

If necessary, refuse entrance of guests, evict guests and/or escort them to reasonable transportation.
Prepare written guest incident reports for all incidents on the Wilson Creek Winery property.

Monitor property signage and report any signage needs.
Patrol parking lots, boneyard and facilities work area throughout the day.
Communicate with limo drivers and party bus drivers regarding rowdy guests.

Direct and coordinate security team during concerts and other large events.

You have a minimum of one (1) year experience in a security role.
