We are seeking a Social Media Intern for our summer internship program. The internship will occur from May 15th to August 11th, working full time hours.

The Social Media Intern will assist the Social Media Strategist in the continued planning, development, and execution of OCLC’s social media strategies, channels, and tools.

Responsibilities:
• Create content strategies for cross-department teams, including OCLC Research, Membership, Human Resources, Product Marketing, EMEA, and others as needed.
• Identify creative content opportunities for internal campaigns and industry trends.
• Assist in the drafting of an evergreen content plan.
• Review and make recommendations for improvement on OCLC’s social media plan.
• Create a monthly social media calendar, based on OCLC’s social media plan.
• Evaluate channel and content analytics, identify opportunities, and make recommendations for improvements.

OCLC Library, Archive, and Museum

The OCLC Library, Archive, and Museum supports the information needs of OCLC staff and manages the organization's corporate archive and museum. Two professional librarians provide reference services, manage the OCLC Library's physical and virtual collections, offer document delivery, and play a unique role in beta-testing new OCLC products and enhancements to existing products. Staff support OCLC employees in Dublin, Ohio, and offices around the globe. The OCLC Archive is the official repository for maintaining OCLC's rich corporate history. The OCLC Museum contains informative exhibits for OCLC staff and visitors alike to visit and enjoy.

Intern may choose to work in any of the areas described below, or a combination therein:

Archives Maintenance, Data Enhancement

Responsibilities include:
• Enhance existing metadata of OCLC Archive records stored in the OCLC Archive digital repository using CONTENTdm and within WorldCat. This may include editing existing or creating new cataloging records of archive collection items.
• Retrospective editing subject authorities of OCLC Archive entries in CONTENTdm utilizing authority-controlled vocabulary. This may include adding new entries to the controlled vocabulary.
• Correct links in the OCLC WorldCat knowledge base to connect CONTENTdm entries with records in the OCLC Library's catalog.
• Assist archive/library staff with OCLC Archive's donations backlog by prepping and digitizing analog documents using a digital scanner and adding/enhancing metadata before importing digital documents into the OCLC Digital ARCHIVE (using CONTENTdm). This may include conducting brief inventories of archive documents.

Museum Exhibit Research, Creation and Promotion

Responsibilities include:
• Assist in researching, creating, and promoting an exhibit for the OCLC Museum.
• Work with the OCLC Corporate Archivist and staff in other OCLC units as needed to research an idea and prepare the storyline for an exhibit.
• Search the OCLC Archive collections for relevant exhibit items, design and assemble the exhibit, and help promote it. The exhibit will be viewed and appreciated by OCLC staff and librarians from around the world who tour OCLC's headquarters campus.

Library Reference/Research

Responsibilities Include:
• Work with the Corporate Archivist to pull/prep background information and items for a new OCLC Museum exhibit.

The Job Details are as follows:

We are seeking a Technical Services Intern for our summer internship program. The Technical Services Intern will work closely with the research scientists and software engineer on multiple research projects that utilize OCLC system data, such as WorldCat and QuestionPoint. Dates for the internship will be from May 15th to August 11th, 2023 , working full time during this time in a hybrid work environment. This position will be a part of our IT Service Assurance team and work collaboratively the Disaster Recovery, Monitoring and Configuration Management teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Learn the architecture and principles of ServiceNow:

a. Major tables (user, group, incident, problem, task, request, requested item, catalog task).

b. Business Rules (Javascript)

c. Scheduled Jobs

d. Reports

e. Security Rules

f. Forms

g. Workflows

2. Develop automated regression testing scripts to test ServiceNow functionality

3. Monitor the performance of the prod instance and notify S/N staff when performance is outside of limits.

4. Accept and perform assignments from S/N staff. This will include some development.

Qualifications:
• Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Networking or equivalent
• Experience in Microsoft Office Toolset - Spreadsheet, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Word
• Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Components - Hardware, Network, etc
• Ability to communicate and interact with others - outgoing, ability to ask questions, work independently.

OCLC Interns are compensated on an hourly basis for their work. Our Interns will also be invited to participate in additional learning opportunities throughout the Summer including "Lunch & Learn" events with executive leadership, volunteer opportunities to give back to local community, and other Intern-only events.

The Lead Software Engineer will join the WorldCat Discovery development team. In this role, you will develop and maintain applications that help library patrons find and retrieve resources from their library and from other libraries worldwide. Responsibilities
• Create complex web applications with rich user experience
• Participates in complete SDLC - analyze, Design, code and test multiple modules of a system in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Minimum Required:
• 6+ years of professional software development experience

• Wide range of experience with common JDK technologies
• Experience developing accessible software
• Experience with and excitement to work on brownfield or greenfield projects
• Strong ability to communicate well with non-technical peers to reach a shared goal
• Detail oriented and can organize and lead small to medium sized projects
Desired but not Required:
• Experience with React, including functional components and hooks
• Experience with Spring (Boot, Core, others)
• Familiarity of CI / CD pipelines
