Responsibilities: As part of a small team, interns will provide crucial support to the Index team and will assist with data collection efforts and report production for WJP’s various projects, including the WJP Rule of Law Index 2023, graphical country reports, and other thematic and country-specific projects. The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Support the primary data collection process for the Qualified Respondents’ Questionnaires (QRQ) expert surveys administered in 142 countries for the annual WJP Rule of Law Index report. This includes survey maintenance, large scale outreach efforts, correspondence with expert contributors, and management of online data collection platforms and CRM databases;
• Contribute to the data analysis, research, writing, editing, and design of the WJP Rule of Law Index annual report series;
• Support the production of additional WJP research publications and materials derived from Index data;
• Support projects and activities related to alternative data collection efforts, data presentation, and data visualization;
• Conduct qualitative research on rule of law developments around the world;
• Assist with preparations for meetings and presentations, including producing drafts of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and handouts, and preparing and assembling outreach materials for external distribution;
• Provide general programmatic and administrative support, including research, editing and proofreading documents and presentations, assisting with Index calendar management, and coordinating logistics for travel and meetings;

Qualifications: This position is open to graduates (Bachelor’s degree) with excellent attention to detail and research skills. International experience and foreign language skills are preferred. The ideal candidate will have completed coursework in international affairs, social sciences, journalism, economics, policy studies, regional studies, law, or related field. They will be bright, highly dependable, and motivated with a strong academic record and an enthusiastic interest in the rule of law.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
• Preferably at least one year of professional experience, including internships;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel), with preference given to those with prior experience/proven ability managing large databases;
• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently, and ability to give and receive feedback;
• Ability to work independently as well as in group settings, the ability to manage his or her own workload, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure;

The Development Associate is based in the Washington, DC office and will have... responsibility for 1) supporting public and private sector fundraising activities; 2) identifying institutional grant opportunities and coordinating development of proposals; 3) maintaining and refining systems to track fundraising efforts; and 4) providing administrative support as needed to senior leadership.

The World Justice Project follows a hybrid work schedule of three days in the office and two remote days per week. This is subject to change based on COVID-19 transmission rates. Responsibilities

The Senior Program Associate will report directly to the Rule of Law Index Co-Director to provide crucial support for the Rule of Law Index team. The Senior Program Associate will assist with research, data analysis, and other long-term projects on the status of the rule of law in different countries as well as on the mechanisms by which the rule of law operates and affects economic and political life. This position will focus primarily on the expert side of data collection for the Rule of Law Index. The main responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist with the primary data collection process for the Qualified Respondents’ Questionnaire (QRQ) expert surveys administered in 140 countries for the annual WJP Rule of Law Index report. This includes survey design and maintenance; survey administration; data collection; development of strategic partnerships with legal and public health institutions; management of expert contributors; and management of online data collection platforms and CRM databases;
• Support the documentation of Index-related processes to build a repository of internal resources for team training and management;
• Contribute to and help manage the data analysis, research, writing, design, and printing of the World Justice Project Rule of Law Index and WJP Rule of Law Index Insights annual reports;
• Help manage administrative processes for the research team, including contract negotiations, payment processes, and day to day administration of consultant and vendor contracts;
• Support data collection , data presentation, and data visualization efforts;
• Coordinate with the Communications, Development, and Engagement teams on matters involving Index data;
• Participate in joint endeavors and working groups to contribute to the maintenance and growth of the WJP’s network of partners around the globe;
• Assist with grant proposals and fundraising efforts, including the development of technical and budget narratives;

Qualifications
