Position Summary
The person hired for this position will have the opportunity to promote inclusive excellence through collaboration with 14 universities committed to institutional transformation. This position is funded by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s (HHMI) Inclusive Excellence initiative (IE3) through a learning community cluster (LCC2) of higher education institutions. The HHMI LCC2 Network Director will be the operational administrator and thought partner for LCC2, supporting collaboration, communication, formative assessment, and reporting among the institutions over the time of the grant. The Network Director will coordinate this team of universities working on three interconnected projects related to improving the climate of inclusion in higher education. LCC2 projects are guided by one framing question: What would it take to create and maintain safe, equitable, and supportive teaching and learning environments where all students, faculty, administrators, and staff are deeply invested, empowered, supported and capable of providing the tools and resources that allow every student to feel valued as individuals, included, connected, supported and confident in their ability to succeed in their own STEM pathway?
Funded by HHMI for six years, the three projects are:
• DEI-focused Professional Development and Repository
• Introductory STEM Curriculum
• Peer-to-Peer Student Connections
The Network Director position has the potential for annual renewal for up to five years (as long as funding remains available), subject to regular evaluation. The expected salary range for this position is $60,000- $75,000 dependent upon applicant qualifications. The Network Director reports to the Associate Provost for Strategic Initiatives at Xavier and to the LCC2 Design Team for the cluster.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordination and Communication among LLC 2 institutions
• Maintain frequent communication with the LCC2 Design Team.
• Frame Design Team meeting plans and critical decision-making processes.
• Regularly report on progress to the Design Team and host-institution supervisor.
• Maintain communication among Project Teams and the LCC2 Network.
• Participate (ex officio) on each Project Team
• Coordinate scheduling and help develop agendas for Project Teams
• Serve as a conduit for information sharing and sense-making among projects.
• Maintain communication among the LCC2 Network.
• Maintain an up-to-date list of Project, Budget, Assessment, Research & LCC2 Network memberships
• Follow and facilitate LCC2 Basecamp communications and act on requests/action items.
• Coordinate scheduling and help develop agendas for LCC2 Network meetings.
• Compose and send out regular LCC2-Network communications.
• Coordinate logistics for virtual and in-person meetings.
Administration
• Serve as a liaison to project teams, facilitating year-to-year continuity and coordination among design, budget, assessment, and project teams
• Facilitate building schedules of work to complete projects and tasks
• Track and assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
• Maintain and organize records of all meetings and collaborations for reporting and resource sharing
• Gather data for LCC annual report and/or other HHMI required reports; share common language for these reports and create first drafts for the LCC.
• Budget administration work with the Budget Team
• Assist with central fund management.
• Make sure LCC invoices are paid and appropriate contracts are established.
• Facilitate individual institutions with budgetary changes through the HHMI Pathway System.
• Assist with LCC-wide assessment data collection.
External Liaison
• Serve as the primary liaison to current LCC process consultants (CoCreative), including understanding their process and incorporating key components of their recommendations within the work of the group.
• Travel as needed to institutions, HHMI, and conferences.
• Track communication from HHMI and ensure timely responses.
Qualifications and skills
• Required:
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of project management experience or a Master’s degree and at least 2 years of project management experience
• Administrative experience involving the coordination of administrative tasks and communication for projects or initiatives.
• Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) initiatives.
• Preferred:
• Degree in a STEM field
• Master’s or higher degree
• Experience in higher education working with faculty
• Experience in educational project management, planning, and administration in higher education
• Experience working on grant-funded projects
• Experience working with STEM fields in higher education
• Experience with DEIAB initiatives
• Familiarity with structural or systems change
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate multi-institutional/organizational collaborative initiatives
• Skills in not-for-profit organizational management
• Highly proficient with oral communication
• Highly proficient with written communication, both formal and informal.
• Experience with group facilitation and consultation with individuals and teams.
• Proficiency working in an entirely virtual environment and experience using common virtual collaboration tools and software platforms.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing objectives/strategies.
• Ability to work with and affirm contributions from a diverse group of people, without regard to race, gender, sexual identity, disability, etc.
• Ability to work independently, identify tasks and projects, and develop a plan with limited day-to-day oversight.

Minimum Qualifications: A Masters degree in theology or religious studies... from an accredited college or university, and demonstrated ability to teach an introductory course in Christian theology. Previous teaching experience at the college level preferred.

Qualifications:
