Xero Tax product has seen consistent growth in the last nine years. About the role:

As a Senior Workday HCM you will be a key member of the People and Finance Systems team with a HRIS focus in Workday. What you'll bring:

• Strong technical understanding with finance, people, recruitment, payroll, and collaboration tools (Workday experience is required and Netsuite and Lever experience is preferred).
• Previous experience where you have acted as an escalation point would be beneficial.

Engineering @ Xero

We have positions in two areas: Xero Product where you will work to continuously improve the features of Xero software, or Xero Platform where you'll build and maintain critical applications and services consumed by teams throughout Xero globally.

We believe that a solid technical foundation and strong growth mindset are the keys to success in Software Engineering. So you won’t find a long list of must-have tech requirements below. How you’ll make an impact

Xero’s Global Customer Experience Team works together to provide 24/7 support to Xero users all over the world. We aim to delight our customers and make it easy for them to see how Xero adds value to their business.

As a Customer Experience Specialist in Functions, you could be expected to help our customers in any of the following broad areas;

Banking - manage and respond to banking related enquiries and perform manual system integration actions as required

Billing - respond to subscription and billing enquiries

How you’ll make an impact

Xero’s Customer Experience Team is made up of product experts, based in NZ, AU, US and UK, who work together to provide 24/7 support to Xero users. We aim to delight our customers and make it easy for them to see how Xero adds value to their business.

As a CX Accounting specialist, you will be investigating and responding to queries sent in by customers when they encounter issues with our software, or just need a helping hand to get something done. Through written replies and outbound phone calls, we aim to give each customer prompt, customized, and easy-to-understand information about using Xero, in order to help their business thrive. No two days at Xero will be quite the same. As you build your knowledge and confidence, there will be opportunities to up-skill and specialize in the support of additional areas of our software.

What you'll do
• Effective resolution and prioritization of customer support requests relating to our accounting software within our targeted initial response times, quality, and productivity expectations
• Maintain a high quality of customer interaction and support via both written message and phone to either resolve the issue or request further information/clarification regarding their query
• Maintain a high quality of written communication in an agreed style and format
• Collaborate with team members to provide high quality customer experience
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Xero customer experience, including internal processes and the Xero application functionality
• Problem solving for technical issues using a variety of resources and team collaboration
• Other Accounting and Product Support related tasks
• Perform in a hybrid working environment to capitalize on collaboration and flexibility, working from the office 3 days a week

• Accurate diagnosis and technical troubleshooting of product bugs and issues on customer issues
• Timely, accurate, and helpful responses to customer support cases as per the agreed targets
• Efficient escalation of priority issues to assist in prompt case resolution
• Provide feedback on processes and product improvements to the CX Management Team

What you’ll bring with you
• Experience in accounting, or understanding of accounting principles
• Prior experience working with accounting software or small business financial operations or software (i.e. accounting degree or business degree with accounting classes, experience as a user of Xero or equivalent product, experience as an accountant or bookkeeper, experience with small business operations and services)
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Diligence and commitment to following through and resolving problems
• A mature and passionate approach to doing great work, including receptivity to feedback
• Initiative and ability to self manage, along with adaptability and flexibility
• Ability to build effective relationships
• A fast learner, familiar and comfortable with technology
• A resilient team player committed to proactively helping other team members
• An ability to think outside the box when problem solving
• Strong troubleshooting skills and curiosity to test scenarios in the Xero user interface for issue diagnosis and resolution
• Experience within a customer service environment is preferred
• Experience in a small business is desirable
• Experience working in collaborative, people-first (ie. customers, peers, and others) environments

Total compensation for this role includes a base salary of $48,000 - $53,000, commensurate with experience, plus an annual grant of Xero shares, calculated as a percentage of base salary.

• Respond to our customers via email or telephone with the end goal of resolving their issue
• Collaborate effectively with other teams such as Sales, Technical Specialists and Product
• Utilising Accounting knowledge to provide practical, real time solutions
• Maintain a high quality of written communication based on Xero’s style & format
• Where appropriate escalate feedback received from customers to ensure continuous improvement of Xero customer care service
• Support our wider Xero teams with events and initiatives
• Work with a diverse team, with some of the best technology in a modern and flexible environment
• We support customers around the globe 24/7, our team here in Melbourne typically work Monday to Friday from 10.30am - 7pm however we are also happy if you’d like to work a regular Saturday and have a 11.30 - 8pm shift available.

How you’ll make an impact

You'll help build and manage software that solves engineering problems at scale. You’ll work in collaboration with other Xeros to help create and deliver beautiful software to our customers, faster.

You’ll undertake software application development on applications in our existing suite of products (including new ones), contributing to new or improved experiences for our customers, internal and external.

You’ll help maintain the standard for engineering excellence at Xero and support your team members in building products together. You’ll contribute to our cross functional environment by working towards the same objectives, using modern principles and practices.

You’ll be enabled to seek clarity with technical complexities and be able to demonstrate smart ways to automate. You’ll be able to make data-driven decisions that will release value early to solve Xero customers' problems more effectively.
