Position Focus
The individual will work under the supervision of the Healthcare-Associated Infections – Community Interface (HAIC) project manager in the Yale Emerging Infections Program (EIP) and will aid in the implementation and data collection for the 2023 Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Use Prevalence Survey. The individual will also provide support... for other HAIC projects as needed (candidemia and C. difficile surveillance).
Primary responsibilities: work with participating hospitals to receive electronic line lists of a random sample of eligible acute care inpatients on the morning of each hospital’s survey date; enter survey data into a project database developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); review medical records both in office and at hospitals throughout CT to complete the prevalence survey data forms; ensure integrity of data in the database through routine data checks and cleaning procedures; assist in data analyses, report generation, and data close-out; participate in conference calls and face-to-face meetings with CDC, CT DPH, and other EIP site staff for training and to discuss survey procedures, including protocol and survey form implementation and standardization of data collection and data entry—this may require travel to Hartford, Atlanta, GA, and possibly other states.
Secondary responsibilities: access reports entered electronically into CT Electronic Disease Surveillance System (CTEDSS); contact providers to gather required clinical and epidemiological information via FAX, telephone, and secure email; assist with other activities as necessary to maintain the daily functions of the EIP HAIC Program (candidemia and C. difficile surveillance); assist with other special EIP projects as needed—such activities may include emergency public health response to disease outbreaks (case or control follow-up, chart review, telephone interview, etc.) or special investigations as indicated by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
Essential Duties

Records and compiles information related to research data. Codes data accordingly to research specifications. Uses a computer terminal to input and retrieve data and to generate reports. 3. Processes and summarizes data using scientific or statistical techniques. Assists in data interpretation and analyses. Reports on status of research activities. 4. Recruits study participants and ensures that subject recruitment and follow-up are completed per protocol procedures. 5. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. Required Education And Experience

Position Focus
Reporting to the Manager/Supervisor of a Husbandry Unit, provide operational assistance to the Manager, Supervisor, and Animal Technician E within a husbandry Unit. Ensure and maintain established standards by performing scheduled quality control assessments of designated animal rooms and support areas. Perform a variety of skilled animal husbandry duties and specialized services for animals and animal colonies, including gnotobiotic colonies.
Coordinate and oversee program activities for animal environments, housing and husbandry within designated areas of a Unit. Using established criteria and check lists, perform regularly scheduled quality control assessments of animal rooms and support areas to ensure and maintain established standards. Regularly review PI Special Instructions (SI) in order to ensure that all animal cages with SI are clearly and accurately labeled. Monitor room log notebooks to ensure that animal care complies with SI and University and government regulations. Using established criteria and checklists, oversee the monitoring of physical environmental parameters, certification of clean air devices, rack and equipment rotation and animal housing automatic water systems and ventilation. Submit, track and monitor maintenance requests; act as a point of contact for request follow up. Provide husbandry and specialized services for animals in animal colonies. Maintain, sanitize and decontaminate animal caging, equipment, rooms and facilities within germ-free, hazardous and conventional areas to established standards. Coordinate, participate and train in a variety of routine and complex technical procedures and activities related to the care of gnotobiotic animals used in research. Perform sample collection for verification of germ-free status; keep detailed records of samples and isolator usage. Using specialized knowledge of gnotobiotic husbandry, discuss research projects with investigators to plan procedures and the introduction of animals and supplies into and out of isolators. This requires a high level of coordination, planning and prioritization. Provide assistance to Rodent Preventative Medicine by reporting changes in room populations (i.e. number of racks) for placement of sentinels/targeted sentinels for the rodent QA program. Coordinate with the Unit Manager/Supervisor, Rodent Services and Unit scheduler to implement room moves, targeted sentinels and handling of equipment. Participate in startup meetings for in vivo use of hazardous agents. Serve as the principal source of information for the meeting attendees (YARC and investigator) regarding availability and location of YARC supplies and equipment required for the research project. Confirm that appropriate signage is posted in assigned areas. Communicate with the Unit Manager/Supervisor regarding any issues. Maintain inventory of food, bedding and supplies; establish, maintain and forecast a list of quantities to have available in designated areas, order supplies (internally and externally), as needed. Observe and evaluate animals for signs of illness and stress and deviations in animal conditions. Feed, house and handle animals in accordance with all regulations. Perform animal care under veterinary oversight, which may include minor treatments, pre- and post-procedural care and providing enrichment to individual animal species. Maintain, sanitize and decontaminate animal caging, equipment, rooms and facilities within germ-free, hazardous and conventional areas to established standards. 4. Using established criteria and checklists, oversee the monitoring of physical environmental parameters (such as temperature, humidity, differential air pressure, lights), certification of clean air devices, rack and equipment rotation and animal housing automatic water systems and ventilation. The newly established Office of Campus Health will lead efforts to develop and maintain a campus-wide public health infrastructure that will protect the university's core mission, while maintaining and enhancing the health and productivity of its community in the face of both routine and emergent risks.
Reporting to the Chief Campus Health Officer, the new role will coordinate all related Campus Health programs and teams. The successful incumbent will develop and manage programs and policies related to routine health requirements for students and employees, public health emergency preparedness and response, Yale's Employee Health services, and ongoing COVID response. This role has oversight of the program budget, project management, dashboards, disseminating information and updates throughout the university as needed. Position Focus
In 1971, Yale University established Yale Health to provide health services to its facility, staff and students through a multidisciplinary health maintenance organization located on campus. Our state-of-the-art facility at 55 Lock Street, is where our members receive most of their care from our 150+ providers. It is a 144,000 square foot medical facility with over 90 exam rooms, a 24/7 Acute Care Department, a 17-bed inpatient facility with two negative pressure rooms, a diagnostic imaging suite including MR and CT scan, x-ray and ultrasound and a full-service retail pharmacy.
The newly established Office of Campus Health will lead efforts to develop and maintain a campus-wide public health infrastructure that will protect the university's core mission, while maintaining and enhancing the health and productivity of its community in the face of both routine and emergent risks.
Reporting to the Chief Campus Health Officer, the new role will coordinate all related Campus Health programs and teams. The successful incumbent will develop and manage programs and policies related to routine health requirements for students and employees, public health emergency preparedness and response, Yale's Employee Health services, and ongoing COVID response. This role has oversight of the program budget, project management, dashboards, disseminating information and updates throughout the university as needed. It will require strong project and change management, networking, presentation and communication skills and a high degree of initiative, flexibility, collaboration, and creativity.

Essential Duties
• Provide collaborative coordination of ongoing COVID response activities, including tracking key policy decisions and action items and interacting with teams at Yale Health and across campus. 2. Be the primary convener, contact and support for campus-wide public health-related committees including Health & Safety Leaders (academic and administrative), the Campus Health Advisor Committee and other committees as required. 3. Develop and oversee the Campus Health program budget, including the COVID budget. 4. Inventory and update as needed the Yale Health Emergency Management protocols, policies and procedures related to vaccine preventable illness and other health emergencies that may impact campus. Research and develop new protocols and incident plans as needed in collaboration with Emergency management and clinical partners. 5. Participate with IT in the development and implementation of a comprehensive new health requirements platform. 6. Supervise the Campus Health Compliance Program Team, responsible for compliance and routine university health requirements and other staff as may be required. 7. Facilitate a future comprehensive review and assessment of the university's Employee Health program in conjunction with key campus stakeholders. 8. Participate in planning and execution of simulations, drills and tabletop exercises as needed to prepare for health emergencies.9. Participate in the Incident command structure and university Emergency Operations Team. 10. Interface with campus partners and local and state public health departments as needed. 11. Monitor legal and regulatory requirements pertinent to Campus Health activities. 12. Prepare annual reports to university leadership and other stakeholder groups as needed.
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and six years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.

Investigates, analyzes and evaluates complex data, data collection systems and methods to reach scientific conclusions and ensures the integrity of research data. 6. Collaborates with PI to coordinate major lab renovations working with Facilities, Health and Safety, and Purchasing to ensure deadlines, safety standards and purchases are according to plans and within budgets. 7. Prepares scientific reports and papers for research proposals and published reports. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Independently conduct molecular diagnostics with various types of specimens and work towards development of new procedures. Perform nuclear DNA and RNA extraction from various types of tissues. Perform PCR, FISH and other complex molecular procedures and interpret the results.
