About the job
Working on the YouTube Kids Experiences team, you are building a safer online experience for kids and families across the globe. As a Policy Enforcement Manager, you will implement and enforce our Kids Content Policies across videos. You will understand the content ecosystem, define the operational plan, and implement it globally working with stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Vendor Operations, Analytics, Policy, and Legal. You are a key player in ensuring that we improve our understanding of trends and risks to content safety on the YouTube Kids application and related products. This includes understanding the abusive patterns of bad actors to help prevent and remove offensive content as fast as possible, as well as helping the product to identify and incentivize high-quality, relevant content for kids of varying ages, and developmental stages.
In this role, you will be able to use qualitative and quantitative information to enforce our policies, inform our product strategy, and business decisions for a safe compelling product for kids. You are a problem solver, action-oriented, and able to turn learnings into actionable stories that often bridges the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
You will review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. You will work on-call work on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis as needed.
At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.
Responsibilities
• Work with Product, Engineering, and Business teams on creative solutions (e.g., machine learning, enforcement workflows) to improve content safety and quality across YouTube's Kids Experiences.
• Analyze, identify, and prioritize content trends, deliver strategies, and inform on policies that reduce content that could be harmful to children.
• Implement content safety strategies critical to kids surfaces, working with cross-functional partners such as Policy, Legal, Engineering, Vendor Operations, and Analytics.
• Track and monitor performance against key metrics, turning data into digestible, and actionable stories for cross-functional teams and swiftly manage content escalations, providing data and content driven insights and solutions
• Work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours as needed.
