Position Summary:

The Katz School of Science and Health at Yeshiva University invites applications for tenure-track faculty in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Computer Science for its graduate programs. Fellows may also receive research mentorship and consultation from collaborating experts in behavioral science and technology, life course methodology, health systems and population science, and Latino health disparities through the New York Regional Center for Diabetes Translation Research (NY-CDTR; www.nycdtr.org), which is directed by Dr. Gonzalez. The NY-CDTR is one of seven Centers for Diabetes Translation Research funded by the NIH/NIDDK to promote translational research aimed at reducing diabetes health disparities and addressing social determinants of health (www.diabetes-translation.org). Supervised clinical work in diabetes care is also available. Fellows will participate in research seminars and will be able to take advantage of various opportunities for enrichment throughout Yeshiva, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the NYCDTR, and the Montefiore Medical Center (See: www.montefiore.org). Salary is competitive relative to NIH training levels and benefits are included. Pilot study funds are available. Travel funds are also available to attend scientific and professional conferences.

Position Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the fellows will be to contribute to ongoing JDRF- and NIDDK-funded clinical research projects being conducted in the lab.
• Fellows will have responsibilities including data analysis, manuscript preparation, and assistance with grant proposals.
• Extensive opportunities are available for secondary data analysis and first-author publications.
• Opportunities also exist for mentored pilot studies directed by the fellow.
• Fellows will also contribute to project management of ongoing studies. Specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy protocols tailored for young adults with type 1 diabetes will also be available.
• Teaching and mentoring roles may be available for interested fellows.
Experience & Educational Background:

• Assign and withdraw all computer and database securities, including Banner, OBIEE, remote access to their computer.
• Onboard new employees, including set them up with their email addresses, phone(s), access to server, set up their private folder on the server, coordinate training with the department Trainer.
• Maintain office correspondence and communications with applicants, students and faculty and reply to inquiries. Response must be made in a timely manner, and urgent matters must be brought to the attention of senior management; Confirm that the appropriate resources are available, which are needed by the faculty member.
• Establish and maintain contract agreements with vendors. Process payments and honoraria.
• Maintain records of expenditures and prepare reports.
• Maintain complex databases, including accurate and detailed activity files for accreditation documentation which may include faculty credentialing, fieldwork site records, and financial reports. Experience & Educational Background:
• Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of administrative experience are required. Some experience in a University academic setting is strongly preferred.

Position Summary:

Various student assistant positions that promote the wellbeing and academic growth of UTS and RIETS students.

Position Responsibilities:

Madrich: Meet and Orient New Students:
• Meet Post Pesach Students after Pesach Break.
• Introduce themselves to and make appointments with new students.
• Meet students in Israel in May that are coming to YU for the upcoming fall Meet/spend time individually with every student.
• Offer to learn with the students.
• Q and A session for the students.
• Follow up with students over the summer.
• Send e-mail regarding issues/loose ends.
• Follow up with phone calls as well.

Be involved with Orientation events with Student Life:
• Orient students in Fall, with a lot of attention during Elul Zman.
• Follow up with students on many issues- checking in with them often in Elul and once every 2-3 weeks.
• One get-together in Elul (involve mashgichim and Head Madrich)

Build relationships with Students:
• Oversee students during their first semester on campus.
• Continuing contact with the Israeli Yeshivot - to get feedback from them.
• Meet regularly with Head Madrich and flag students who may need extra attention.
• Follow up with students arriving in January (Spring Semester) and April (Post-Pesach) in a similar fashion, through their first semester.

Connection to Israel Yeshivot:
• Keep in contact with the yeshiva to get feedback during the fall.
• Coordinate speaking slots - and Shabbat visits with faculty and administration of Israeli Yeshivot.
• Coordinate with Head Madrich (who will communicate with RIETS and Admissions).

Programming:
• Organize (Israel) yeshiva events for the students during their first semester [but not further into their YU careers].

Connection to Yeshiva Mashgichim:
• Introduce students to the mashgichim.
• Frequent updates to the mashgichim on students' progress (weekly in fall).

Recruitment:
• Trip to Israel during Winter Break to recruit students from their yeshiva and speak to the yeshiva about the progress of their alumni.

Shiur Assistant:
• Take attendance.
• Organize shiur events.
• Develop a relationship with students.
• Pair up study partners and assist in seat assignments.
• At times offer review session before midterm and final.
• Viewed as student leaders and are required to remain on campus to during orientation and other weekends throughout the year.

Shoel Umeishiv:
• Assist students with understanding and deciphering the texts.
• Develop relationships with the students and should feel comfortable discussing with them both academic and non-academic matters.
• On occasion substitute for the teacher and teach the class.

Night Seder Rebbe:
• Arrange night Seder Chavrusas.
• Coordinate night Seder Chaburas.
• Assist with questions in the beis Medrash in regard to deciphering texts.
• Develop a relationship with students.

Various Tasks:
• Book reshelving
• Beit Medrash Cleaning
• Teaching Assistants
• Flyer creating and hanging
• Publication editing
• Typesetting
• RIETS Press
• Miscellaneous

Experience & Educational Background:
• Knowledge of RIETS and UTS programs and students.
• Many years of experience with rabbinic texts.

Skills & Competencies:
• Good interpersonal and organizations skills.
• Ability to give a lecture on occasion.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to read and write Hebrew.

Position Summary:

The Director of Student Success will develop strategies to create student success plans for YU students. The Director administers and supports the Starfish platform and case management of students at risk. The director is responsible for rolling out the use of Starfish by YU's students, faculty and staff. The director also provides on-going maintenance, administration, end-user support, training and orientations, and coordinates across the college to ensure the effective use of available tools. The director's work supports YU's ongoing efforts to improve student retention and completion rates, and to improve exceptional support for all those using the Starfish platform.

Position Responsibilities:
• Administers and manages the daily operations of YU's student success technology platform (currently Starfish by Hobsons), including routine support and troubleshooting for students, faculty, and staff; management of user roles and privileges; platform configuration and workflow customization; system status monitoring; and data reporting
• Follows up with students in need of support and guidance, helping them access the most appropriate support available
• Supports student success platform efforts, and subsequent system upgrades, by participating on planning and implementation teams or committees as needed
• Works closely with YU's support teams to provide cross-functional support and training
• Works closely with Hobsons to resolve technical issues, to monitor and test application functionality, and to plan for platform updates and the release of new features

Experience & Education Background:
• Master's degree in counseling, education, or related field and 7 or more years of experience in higher education with a focus on student success (preferred), or equivalent experience

• Further develop and implement social-emotional and health and wellness curricula.

Experience & Educational Background:
• M.Ed. School Counseling or an MSW is required, as well as three to five years of related professional experience in a middle/high school setting.

Skills & Competencies:
• Candidates must have strong interpersonal, technology and organizational skills, as well as experience in guidance/school counseling or social work.
• Experience in using PowerSchool and Schoology preferred.
• Knowledge about Jewish values and traditions a plus, but not required.
