WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Develop, create, and research stories.

• Investigate and dig for documents and story leads.

• Gather and verify factual information for air.

• Write compelling live and packaged reports in all formats on deadline, while staying true to the editorial standards of the station.

• Go live on-air from scenes of stories or events, or in studio.

• Write and produce quality news stories and packages for multiple media platforms.

• Work cooperatively with photographer assigned to story, if one is assigned.

• Assist producers in preparing newscast by identifying strong story elements.

• Assist digital team with preparing and posting stories to the website and social media sites.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.

• Generally 5 + years of experience in related field preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Strong storytelling ability.

• Knowledge of and experience in videography and non-linear editing.

• Knowledge of and experience with broadcast quality camera equipment.

• Edit video on Final Cut Pro editing systems, or similar equipment.

• Strong broadcast and AP-style writing skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

• Valid driver's license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required.

COMPENSATION RANGE:
Annual Salary: $80,000.00 - 89000
