WHAT YOU’LL DO

Keeping our plant clean and free from contamination is your focus – and it’s so important! The Sanitation role ensures that assigned areas are properly cleaned using approved cleaning and sanitizing processes. You will be responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing our plant efficiently (during relatively short time periods between the plant’s normal production shifts.) You will clean and sanitize processing and production equipment and these areas of the plant to meet our sanitation standards. We will ensure you have a master cleaning schedule/checklist and you are trained on standard operating procedures so that you can confidently and efficiently perform your duties and maintain food safety standards. You’ll also work with the maintenance team to ensure your cleaning schedule will align to when they work on the equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Oversight and involvement in cleaning and sanitization processes for food processing equipment and food processing facilities.
• Prevent cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
• Follow all company Sanitation standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleaning equipment and facility.
• Perform pre-inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.
• Complete all required sanitation and work order documentation.  
• Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to cleaning carts and tools, automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foamers, cleaning equipment and tools. Keeps the cleaning supplies stocked, on-hand and organized.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.
• Maintains the effectiveness of the quality system and adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.
• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
• Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
• Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SOP.
• Wear appropriate person protective equipment (PPE) while perform cleaning tasks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING

Required
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Follows all GMPs, Food Safety, and EHS SOPs per assignments.
• Properly, accurately and legibly complete required document documentation.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in safe manner.
• Able to lift-up to 50lbs and push and/or pull up to 100 lbs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining quality engineering methodologies and providing quality engineering support within new product development, manufacturing, or system/services support.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Identify and implement effective process control systems to support the development, qualification, and on-going manufacturing of products to meet or exceed internal and external requirements

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining and strengthening the Quality management system so that Abbott Laboratories meets the standard.
• Manage the systems for food safety and good manufacturing practices, internal and external audit programs, and stakeholders for governmental law and legislation
• Develop and keep all Quality management systems in line with relevant laws & regulations through audit reporting and corrective actions, validation and verifications
• Focus on development of quality systems including coordination and implementation of new and existing processes
• Perform internal audits as Lead Auditor and guides external audits of various Governments, bodies and internal supervisors from an audit readiness standpoint. Including the interfacing with the auditing bodies
• Enter all audits, findings, and corresponding quality records and corrective/preventative actions into the audit management system
• Monitor developments in relevant laws & regulations (GMP/HACCP) and standards for new applications in Quality management systems at Abbott Laboratories
• Work with training team to roll out updates to polices, practices and procedures
• Incorporate action plans from the self inspection, 5S and GMP audits for the overall site health plan and follow up metrics reporting monthly. This includes escalation items which need follow up after due dates are not met within defined timelines.
• Responsible for site updates on new regulations for all applicable countries, identity preserved status (Halal, Kosher) and implement through procedure review and updates
• Participate and may lead product trace exercises
• Provide leadership in the areas of Plant Compliance, Strategic Compliance initiatives cGMP and Food Safety within the facility. This will include a responsibility in providing direction for continuous improvement within the plant.
• Develop, identify, analyze, manage and communicate Quality Compliance matters
• Ensure compliance to all AQR, Division, and Site Procedures and Policies
• Ensure compliance to all applicable regulations and codes
• Responsible for ensuring cGMP best practice throughout the plant and developing programs to continually improve plant practices
• Play a key role in ensuring the plant is audit ready for external and internal audits
• Play a key role in the HACCP program and Food Safety Programs on site to ensure all new equipment/processes and any new infrastructure meets cGMP standards and regulatory compliance
• Support implementation of new regulations and requirements, from our governing agencies or certifying bodies (FDA, SQF etc.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in food manufacturing or pharmaceuticals
• Strong planning, prioritizing and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals
• Ability to think independently to solve problems and trouble shoot problems expeditiously
• Knowledge of FDA regulations including the IFA (Infant Formula Act), LACF (Low Acid Canned Foods) and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Obtain SQF Practitioner, SQF internal auditor, and PCQI certifications within 1 year

• Bachelor’s Degree or combination of 2 years manufacturing experience with 2 years Quality Assurance experience or 4 years total Quality Assurance experience and LACF (Low Acid Canned Foods) Certified
