WHAT YOU’LL DO

Keeping our plant clean and free from contamination is your focus – and it’s so important! The Sanitation role ensures that assigned areas are properly cleaned using approved cleaning and sanitizing processes. You will be responsible for completely cleaning and sanitizing our plant efficiently (during relatively short time periods between the plant’s normal production shifts.) You will clean and sanitize processing and production equipment and these areas of the plant to meet our sanitation standards. We will ensure you have a master cleaning schedule/checklist and you are trained on standard operating procedures so that you can confidently and efficiently perform your duties and maintain food safety standards. You’ll also work with the maintenance team to ensure your cleaning schedule will align to when they work on the equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Oversight and involvement in cleaning and sanitization processes for food processing equipment and food processing facilities.
• Prevent cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
• Follow all company Sanitation standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleaning equipment and facility.
• Perform pre-inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.
• Complete all required sanitation and work order documentation.  
• Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to cleaning carts and tools, automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foamers, cleaning equipment and tools. Keeps the cleaning supplies stocked, on-hand and organized.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.
• Maintains the effectiveness of the quality system and adheres to all company GMPs and Safety policies.
• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
• Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
• Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SOP.
• Wear appropriate person protective equipment (PPE) while perform cleaning tasks.

Required
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Follows all GMPs, Food Safety, and EHS SOPs per assignments.
• Properly, accurately and legibly complete required document documentation.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in safe manner.
• Able to lift-up to 50lbs and push and/or pull up to 100 lbs.

Preferred

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining quality engineering methodologies and providing quality engineering support within new product development, manufacturing, or system/services support.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Identify and implement effective process control systems to support the development, qualification, and on-going manufacturing of products to meet or exceed internal and external requirements

Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining and strengthening the Quality management system so that Abbott Laboratories meets the standard.
• Manage the systems for food safety and good manufacturing practices, internal and external audit programs, and stakeholders for governmental law and legislation
• Develop and keep all Quality management systems in line with relevant laws & regulations through audit reporting and corrective actions, validation and verifications
• Focus on development of quality systems including coordination and implementation of new and existing processes
• Perform internal audits as Lead Auditor and guides external audits of various Governments, bodies and internal supervisors from an audit readiness standpoint. Including the interfacing with the auditing bodies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in food manufacturing or pharmaceuticals
• Strong planning, prioritizing and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Plant Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for the activities and resources within the Sanitation area to ensure support is provided to meet the department and company goals. Leads the team of Sanitation Specialists who perform the cleaning processes. Core responsibilities include:
• Responsible for the overall results for a single shift of a manufacturing Sanitation area. Coordinate activities for the shift team to ensure delivery of all key performance metrics including those in EHS, Quality, Finance, Productivity and People.

Develop all line personnel by securing appropriate training, providing mentoring and assigning progressively challenging stretch responsibilities within the scope of the team and department accountabilities.
• Manage budget accountability for Headcount, Overtime, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line. Track, trend and continuously improve budgetary performance for direct expenses, headcount, overtime (OT), Material Usage Variance (MUV) and Scrap and Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).
• Understand performance drivers and develop and execute plans around improvement of line performance and quality metrics with support from the direct manager. Understand all key performance indicators, driving and executing plans for improvement through team engagement.

Required
• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, food technology, engineering or 2+ years of experience in a regulated industry, with preference being for food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, etc.

Pay

The salary range for this position is 118,100k - 236,100K based on experience.

The Opportunity

This role will support a highly diverse research organization and act as the point contact for all laboratory operations. Key stakeholders include laboratory associates, the R&D leadership team, EH&S, Facilities and Finance. As the Lab Manger you will be work closely with lab owners in managing all aspects of laboratory operations.

What You’ll Work On
• Manage all Tech Ops Labs to meet major objectives, including but not limited to:
• Chemistry, Sensor, Electrical, Mechanical, Process, RF, ESD, Machine Shop, and Storage.
• Manage lab consumable supply program reducing costs via strategic alignment of suppliers.
• Manage parts stockroom and create and manage Parts Database.
• Responsible for coordination with Shipping team for outbound and on-bound shipments.
• Record and track material on hand against BOM for upcoming builds and projects (verifying packing slip, order confirmation, and physical goods are aligned).
• Coordinate with project technical leads for supplies and prototype part requisitioning.
• Serve as the liaison for all contact between vendors/suppliers and the scientists.
• Responsible for annual lab cleanup efforts.
• Manage the R&D capital asset tracking program, author clear proposals for capital equipment purchases and manage equipment lifecycle program.
• Responsible for generating POs and resolving SAP workflow items and vendor issues with finance and procurement.
• Oversee laboratory equipment repair and maintenance programs (PMs, Calibrations and equipment service contracts).

Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for a Multi-Craft Technician III - 1st Shift.

The Multi-Craft (MC) Technician's responsibility within both the Manufacturing and Maintenance Department is to maintain the plant in a safe and reliable condition in compliance with all applicable corporate, state and federal codes. This function is integrated into the manufacturing production equipment team member aspects while being the subject matter expert for technical repair and maintenance on the lines. The MC Technician shall provide outstanding customer service to the manufacturing and support groups in the plant through a robust predictive, preventative and autonomous maintenance program, troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of plant processing, packaging, filling, and infrastructure systems. This is executed in a manner which enables the plant to safely, economically and efficiently conduct business. In addition, the Maintenance Department personnel serve as a technical resource to the plant and divisional manufacturing and engineering groups. The role of the MC Technician is to perform as a line team member, assigned to an area or machine on the line performing preventive maintenance (PM), production support maintenance, schedule shutdown repairs, and major maintenance task to meet the plant production schedule. Maintain all facility areas in an acceptable state of functionality and appearance. Maintenance functions include but are not limited to: training and coaching peers on mechanical aptitude improvements, mechanical, fabrication and welding task with emphasis on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), electronic systems, computer systems, controls, PMs and calibration.

Accountable to function and to be inclusive to the plant's High Performance Work Culture. Accountable for maintaining various hand tools and equipment; drills, winches, micrometers, calipers, torches, welders, lathe, mill, multimeter, etc. Accountable for maintaining all plant systems and machines as required. Failure to maintain will result in repair, replacement and downtime. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, USDA, OSHA and Abbott regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
• Be an integrated team member assigned to Operations, with sole responsibility to respond for all unplanned downtime or breakdowns on machines within team/work group.
• Plan and execute maintenance line support as required for non-routine problems and issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems problems for manufacturing and facility equipment both routine and complex using a defined method of troubleshooting to get to root cause; reading of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams both routine and complex as required.
• Design, fabricate and install mechanical and electronic equipment and perform program changes.
• Weld stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum, fabricating guards, etc., as required.
• Be engaged in safety, compliance, continuous improvement and GMP as a routine part of job responsibilities.
• Follow all department and plant procedures.
• Lead and assist in the planning, coordination and performance of shutdown and major maintenance tasks.
• Support the maintenance planner through writing and closing of work orders and purchase orders by specified materials, vendor contacts and costing, including effective use of the stockroom system.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to support, coordinate and implement design changes to equipment and controls.
• Complete all training as scheduled and perform cross training and other work-related duties as assigned.
• Provide training support to other employees.
• Work with minimal supervision; housekeeping of the shop is primarily the responsibility of everyone working in the area.
• Record and communicate shift activity in an organized manner.
• Properly use the plant work order system and follow all stockroom procedures.
• Audit equipment and develop replacement part lists.
• Machining of parts on a lathe or mill for replacement of repair or worn parts, wire and repair electric motors, repair basic wiring and replace lighting fixtures and lamps; correct size fusing, motor overload protection and wire size per National Electric Code (NEC), read electrical schematics and wire directly from wiring diagrams.
• Use of electrical and precision tools to complete assigned work.
• Proficient in performing repairs to production equipment and plant utility systems; troubleshooting complex, high-speed filling, packaging and conveying equipment, ensure proper operation of electrical/mechanical components and devices (push buttons, switches, timers, solenoids, electrical disconnects, AC and DC motors); troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drives, filtecs, taptones, barcode scanners, video-jet ink printers, vision systems and computer control systems.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting problems with AC drive systems and PLCs.
• Properly maintaining a PLC requires the understanding of the wiring schematics.
• Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance and compliance through active participation and support of Abbott’s EHS Program.

Qualification/Experience/Background
• High School Diploma / GED required
• Minimum 2 years experience
• Mechanical/electrical technical degree or equivalent experience preferred

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Facilities Contractor Coordinator is responsible for providing support and/or oversight to Contract Workers in the Manufacturing areas as it relates to procedure adherence, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), proper sanitation and root cause/corrective action investigations. In this role, the individual will be required to interact and communicate extensively with both external and plant support personnel to assure that contractor projects are eliminating risks related to our safety and quality practices.

• Comply with all regulations and standards for quality, Environment, Health, Safety and Energy (EHS&E) Global Policies, Abbott Engineering Standards, and other governance areas as applicable. • Oversee all site contracted projects performed by external parties with a focus on compliance to EHS&S and GMP requirements

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Lake Bluff, IL location in the IFO International Finance division.

As the Jr Accountant, you'll perform a variety of duties in project & fixed assets accounting such as analyzing projects, approving shopping carts, creating journal entries, performing the monthly reporting, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Develop processes to make sure the financial statements are produced in accordance with US GAAP rules, complies with all 404 Sox requirements and in compliance with all Abbott Corporate Policies and Procedures. This position works with activities for multiple revenue divisions that will vary in size and dollar values.
