In anticipation of potential vacancies and planned enrollment expansion for the 2023-2024 School Year, Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) is seeking candidates that are highly skilled and passionate about their content area. SCA is a K-12 public charter school. The 2023-2024 school year will be the 11th year of our operation. Once fully enrolled (Fall 2024) SCA will have 640 students in grades K-12.

The successful teaching candidate will be very knowledgeable in both content and proven instructional practices that result in successful student outcomes.
SCA teachers are members of the Georgia Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and are eligible to participate in State Health Benefit Plan, group dental, vision, and supplemental coverages. Salaries for certified positions are based on the local county school system's published salary scale. We are seeking top talent and offer a more competitive salary than other area schools/districts to attract such applicants.

This position qualifies for
• $5000.00 Upper School Core Teacher Salary Supplement for Georgia Certified or Eligible for Georgia Certification
• $1500.00 Signing Bonus
Ex) Local salary scale for a first year T4 (four-year degree certified teacher) is $47,124.00 add SCA's $5000.00 supplement equals $52,124.00 annual salary.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide appropriate learning experiences and educational opportunities for each student assigned to the class.

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

REQUIREMENTS:
• Education Level: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Preferred: Advanced degree(s)
• Experience, Skill and Certification: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field or meet Georgia's Professionally Qualified standards for charter schools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

General Duties and Responsibilities
• Follows professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, students' records, parents, and colleagues.
• Complies with school, district, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies.
• Demonstrates professional practices in teaching.
• Acts in a professional manner and assumes responsibility for the total school program, its safety and good order.
• Performs other duties as required based on the specific content area taught (such as content-area competitions, after-hours activities, and so on).
• Plans and coordinates purposeful assignments for paraprofessional(s), other supporting staff, and volunteer(s), and provides input to the administrative staff on the performance of these individuals.
• Performs other duties as required by the district, the school, or student need.
