The Library seeks a forward-looking . Reporting to the Associate University Librarian, Public Services, the Director of Digital Scholarship Services (DSS) leads planning, delivering, and assessing a wide array of innovative research and instruction services for digital scholarship and data discovery programs. Collaborating with other public services directors, the DSS director works with faculty and staff colleagues throughout the university to understand DSS needs in the various colleges, schools, programs, and departments, and promotes the services provided by the unit. The director is responsible for ensuring strategic development of the unit as well as the services provided by the unit.
The DSS unit includes 2 full-time RTE faculty librarians; the Director also coordinates the efforts of several librarians providing data discovery services who work in unit libraries and whose commitment to DSS ranges from 15%-35%. Services include the Digital CoLab; GIS support; providing data discovery services, including working with undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty who require access to existing data sets; creating data sets via scraping and other techniques; cleaning, coding, and data visualization; and collaborating on grant-funded work. The unit staff work closely with colleagues in other public services units as well as with those in the newly-formed Research Data and Open Scholarship unit.
Required Qualifications:
• A master’s degree or higher in library or information science or another relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in the field of digital scholarship and/or related data services, including a deep understanding of the research process and knowledge of the ways that new technologies are affecting the production of scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.
• Experience envisioning innovative programs and services and leading teams.
• A demonstrated commitment to public service and teaching in the research environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; good problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the work environment and in services provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience writing grant proposals and/or experience collaborating on grant-funded projects.
• A commitment to continuous professional development through participation in local, regional, and national forums.
This position is based in Ithaca, New York.

Salary: $31,401 for full time and $15,701 for part time
Part-time and full time entry-level custodial positions on various shifts. A Cleaner performs a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort in cleaning and caring for an assigned area in buildings and adjacent grounds and sidewalks.
Employees may work many weekends and holidays and are subject to mandatory and voluntary overtime.
Shifts available:
- Full time, 11 pm-7 am (Weekend shifts may be necessary as well as Monday holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Day should they fall on a Monday; pass days vary)
- Part-time, day shift, Monday - Friday 10 am - 2:30 pm (+/- 30 min depending on building assignment)
- Part-time, weekends, 1st shift: Saturday, Sunday & Monday (including Monday holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Day should they fall on a Monday)
Upon hire, a 52-week probationary period must be served.
Requirements:
• Working knowledge of the properties of various cleaning substances.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and simple written instructions in English
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend and stretch for long periods of time
• Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor
• Ability to use various cleaning equipment and products
• Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and shovel snow
• Ability to read, write and understand English
