The Library seeks a forward-looking . Reporting to the Associate University Librarian, Public Services, the Director of Digital Scholarship Services (DSS) leads planning, delivering, and assessing a wide array of innovative research and instruction services for digital scholarship and data discovery programs. Collaborating with other public services directors, the DSS director works with faculty and staff colleagues throughout the university to understand DSS needs in the various colleges, schools, programs, and departments, and promotes the services provided by the unit. The director is responsible for ensuring strategic development of the unit as well as the services provided by the unit.
The DSS unit includes 2 full-time RTE faculty librarians; the Director also coordinates the efforts of several librarians providing data discovery services who work in unit libraries and whose commitment to DSS ranges from 15%-35%. Services include the Digital CoLab; GIS support; providing data discovery services, including working with undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty who require access to existing data sets; creating data sets via scraping and other techniques; cleaning, coding, and data visualization; and collaborating on grant-funded work. The unit staff work closely with colleagues in other public services units as well as with those in the newly-formed Research Data and Open Scholarship unit.
Required Qualifications:
• A master’s degree or higher in library or information science or another relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in the field of digital scholarship and/or related data services, including a deep understanding of the research process and knowledge of the ways that new technologies are affecting the production of scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.
• Experience envisioning innovative programs and services and leading teams.
• A demonstrated commitment to public service and teaching in the research environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; good problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the work environment and in services provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience writing grant proposals and/or experience collaborating on grant-funded projects.
• A commitment to continuous professional development through participation in local, regional, and national forums.
This position is based in Ithaca, New York.

Grade: SG-5
Salary: $31,401 for full time and $15,701 for part time
Part-time and full time entry-level custodial positions on various shifts. A Cleaner performs a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort in cleaning and caring for an assigned area in buildings and adjacent grounds and sidewalks.
Employees may work many weekends and holidays and are subject to mandatory and voluntary overtime.
Shifts available:
- Full time, 11 pm-7 am (Weekend shifts may be necessary as well as Monday holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Day should they fall on a Monday; pass days vary)
- Part-time, day shift, Monday - Friday 10 am - 2:30 pm (+/- 30 min depending on building assignment)
- Part-time, weekends, 1st shift: Saturday, Sunday & Monday (including Monday holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Day should they fall on a Monday)
Upon hire, a 52-week probationary period must be served.
Requirements:
• Working knowledge of the properties of various cleaning substances.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and simple written instructions in English
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend and stretch for long periods of time
• Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor
• Ability to use various cleaning equipment and products
• Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and shovel snow
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Successful applicants must be good communicators, have a positive attitude, and be able to work productively as a team member

Working as a core member of NYUHSL's Education and Clinical Support Team, the successful candidate will strengthen existing partnerships and develop a new service portfolio to improve the use of biomedical and health information in clinical contexts. The successful candidate will work alongside healthcare providers. The role will include many traditional responsibilities, such as: consultation services, literature searching, developing instruction around library resources, active participation in clinically-relevant forums (morning report, rounds, and clinical conferences), and developing information "wayfinding tools" for clinical audiences.
The successful candidate also will move beyond traditional roles to create innovative ways of leveraging library resources that support clinicians throughout the health care system. NYU Langone Health is a complex health system comprised of multiple hospitals and ambulatory care practices. The Clinical Collaboration Librarian will most often engage with the clinical community in their preferred environments, typically outside the library and potentially at multiple different hospital locations across the area. The successful candidate will demonstrate approachability and a user-centric perspective in interactions with a variety of clinically-related users including stakeholders from: nursing, pharmacy, quality improvement and patient safety, clinical data and clinical IT, and physicians.

Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Lead of Programming and Clinical Support, the successful candidate will:
Foster relationships, build strategic partnerships, and lead outreach efforts to clinical departments and user communities (e.g. quality improvement, hospitalists, pharmacy, allied health, etc.);
Provide small group, virtual, and classroom-based trainings;
Provide personal consultations with library users;
Participate in on-site information services to the clinical system, such as morning report, rounds, and other clinical activities;
Create and maintain asynchronous training materials, such as LibGuides, to support clinicians;
Create and maintain promotional materials to increase clinician awareness of library resources and services;
Support information access at inpatient and outpatient sites throughout the NYULH system;
Develop solutions for information access at the point-of-care leveraging the electronic health record;
Collaborate with other librarians in offering educational sessions and information services/support to all faculty, students, and staff of NYU Langone Health;
Provide direct assistance to users via the Library's ticketing system;
Assess impact of clinically-related library programming;
Work in other areas dependent on Library needs and/or the candidate's research interests and expertise;
Collaborate with library colleagues to support the Library's Vision, Mission, and Strategic Goals;
Develop academic projects and set self-directed research goals.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in library/information science or a related healthcare or information field;
Conversant about the evidence-based practice process at the point of care;
Enthusiasm for working closely with varied users in a dynamic academic medical center environment;
Adept at coordinating work efforts in a highly collaborative team environment;
Strong service orientation with excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an academic health sciences library;
Experience or knowledge of librarian participation in clinical settings;
Knowledgeable about the evidence-based care process;
Experience with Epic or other electronic medical record systems;
Expert database searching and citation managements skills in support of clinical care and quality improvement.

The NYU Grossman School of Medicine offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, retirement benefits, time off, tuition benefits, wellness programs, and more. The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 and salary is commensurate with experience. The Health Sciences Library provides mentoring and support for research, scholarship and publication as part of our commitment to ongoing faculty professional development.
