The EIS Summer Intern will work with the Special Testing group within Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) department. The team in EIS consists of IT specialists in solution design, data management and computer engineering. This position is for someone looking to gain applied design and programming experience working with senior design and programming specialists. Candidates can be in-person in Iowa City, IA or remote for the 10-week duration of the internship.

In addition to gaining experience by working with EIS IT members on AWS' cloud computing platform, candidates will have the opportunity to design and implement a streamlined process to manage a complex business workflow and associated activities required to support the delivery of ACT's standardized tests to individuals with special accommodation requirements.

The focus of this project will be to:
• Document the existing process together with the data sources and tools used to manage it.
• Design an end-to-end solution (full stack) to replace the existing process and tools using AWS capabilities.
• Build the solution and associated needed documentation in order to gain adoption of the new capabilities.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
• Must be working toward a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field with a focus on application development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency in web-based application development, with a focus on React, JavaScript and TypeScript
• Proficiency in/knowledge of SQL and NoSQL data management
• Understanding of microservices and APIs

You will be joining a team that works closely together with many handoffs in order to ensure operational delivery of ACT's product offerings are successfully delivered.

The Senior Manager, Product Operational Delivery manages a team supporting delivery of core ACT products, the delivery of assessment programs, contributes to the strategic direction of program operations, and serves as a subject matter expert in product delivery.

The Finalist will be hired at the salary commensurate with their qualifications. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary in the range of $70,000 to $90,000. ACT manages salaries within the range based on relevant factors including, skills, experience, and internal equity. This position is not incentive eligible.

What you will be working on:
• Lead a team of individual contributors with varying levels of independence. Guiding and motivating the team to perform at a high level with strong customer support and a focus on service with the goal of departmental and contractual success.
• Balance tactical delivery of assessment and learning programs with big-picture thinking about future-state of programs and products.
• Support the implementation of assessment programs by ensuring processes are up-to-date, communication within and across teams is accurate and timely, and all operational deliverables are planned for.

We are seeking an ACT State Senior or Lead Program Manager. The Research Summer Intern will work with the Applied Research Component Team within the ACT Research group. The team in Research consists of researchers in psychometrics, validity and efficacy, artificial intelligence and machine learning, survey methodology, social and emotional learning (SEL), and industrial-organizational psychology. This position is for someone looking to gain applied research experience working with senior validity and efficacy researchers and survey methodologists. Candidates can be in-person in Iowa City, IA or remote for the 10-week duration of the internship.

In addition to gaining experience by working with current Applied Research Component Team members to create and refine assessments and learning materials, candidates will have the opportunity to design and conduct original research studies. Successful candidates will be matched to research studies in their field of study that matches their research interests. Possible research studies for Summer 2023 include, but are not limited to:
• Recreating and/or reconceptualizing validity and efficacy studies in support of ACT's suite of assessments
