About the role...
We have an exciting opportunity to be part of a small multi-disciplinary engineering team developing Maritime Satellite Communications systems.
You will be involved in the complex projects requiring architectural design of new solutions, working closely with other functions such as procurement and 3rd party suppliers to ensure a consistent design architecture . The System Engineer will support the System Design Engineer in overseeing the engineered solution and will be responsible for the design baselines.
How will you contribute to the team…
• Support with the detailed development of Maritime MilSatCom systems, developing architectural concepts and designs in response to technical specifications. You will also support with solving issues with design.
• Define the performance allocation between the various components of the architecture configuration.
• Deliver outputs from assigned project work packages within cost, schedule and quality requirements.
• Interpret customer requirements and Interface directly with programme and customer team, to demonstrate technical competence and credibility in our solutions.
• Act as a technical lead for subcontractor and supplier technical developments.
About You...
• Knowledge and understanding of technologies relevant to Satellite communications technology.
• Strong level of experience of System Engineering is required
• Ability to prepare technical documentation
• Experience of quality and assurance management processes.
• Experience of R&D/R&T activities.

About the role...
An exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer has arisen within our Secure Communications Maritime business in the UK. Primarily, you will lead the electrical design activities through all stages in the project development lifecycle.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working within a team environment and assisting with delivering all stages of the design and development, capturing, specifying and managing design requirements. Undertake and/or supervise verification and validation of new product designs to ensure that these requirements have been met.

• Drive the electrical design to achieve electrical solutions for our Maritime Systems
• Ensure compliance to legislation e.g. LDV
• Design and development of new products and maintenance of the existing product line in accordance with agreed design specifications
• Responsible for ensuring that Design to Cost, Design for Manufacture and Design for Test best practices are followed
• Production drawings of electrical harnesses and components
• Generating and updating bill of materials for parts and assemblies
About You...
• A strong foundation level experience in electrical engineering
• Worked with communication protocols such as CAN, RS422 & Ethernet.
• Experience of legacy circuits analysis for fault finding and repairs
• Experience of production activities

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Advisory and Planning: 50%
• Collaborate with IT, Financial Systems, Accounts Payable, Billing/Collection and other teams to implement ongoing processes improvements and software automation.
• Review new business initiatives and changing regulatory requirements to identify any effect on existing transaction tax processes and systems, and/or financial impacts. Work independently to ensure senior management and other key stakeholders (Finance Controlling, Operations, Purchasing, Planning, etc.) have the relevant inputs to make informed decisions.
• Work with incumbent State Tax Manager for an end-to-end review of existing indirect processes for the Airbus US commercial division, with the objective of establishing centralized oversight and internal controls in this practice area.
• Support Senior Tax Manager in fostering relationships with US tax teams of key customers, ensuring a mutual understanding of indirect taxes and the related impacts to commercial terms.
• Adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, analyze and solve problems, work autonomously and motivate others.
2. Compliance: 50%
• Review and/or prepare monthly indirect tax filings, including but not limited to Sales Tax, Use Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, and Property Tax. Perform periodic nexus reviews.
• Development and implementation of audit strategy for Commercial entities. Act as lead interface with state tax authorities.
• Assess Airbus U.S. entities application of internal control related to indirect taxes.
• Coordinate the collection of data for the annual operating plan and quarterly projections.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Required
• 10 -15+ years' experience in a U.S. tax role in a public accounting firm or multinational corporation.
• Strong, demonstrable knowledge of U.S. indirect tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with process design and/or implementing software automation solutions.
• Able to clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management.
• Experience interfacing with internal functions (i.e. Finance, Logistics, Legal, Export & Trade Compliance,etc.) as well as external consultants.
• Experience interfacing with state tax authorities.
• Project management and analytical skills.
• Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required.
Preferred
• Experience working in-house at a multinational corporation (minimum 3 years)

• Collaborate with IT, Financial Systems, Accounts Payable, Billing/Collection and other teams to implement ongoing processes improvements and software automation.

Work independently to ensure senior management and other key stakeholders (Finance Controlling, Operations, Purchasing, Planning, etc.) have the relevant inputs to make informed decisions.
• Work with incumbent State Tax Manager for an end-to-end review of existing indirect processes for the Airbus US commercial division, with the objective of establishing centralized oversight and internal controls in this practice area.
