At Air, we are obsessed with creating magical products that will make our future grandkids proud and that cause our customer’s faces to light up. We are currently working on a suite of products that help businesses scale rapidly… from an outbound dialer with double the answer/contact rate of anyone else in the industry, to our moonshot product which is a conversational... AI that can have full-blown 25 minute sales calls and is indistinguishable from a human. Because of our customers' love for our products, we’ve generated $11.23MM+ in revenue since launching Air 78 days ago ($52MM/yr pace w/o a dime of VC capital - just funded by the market wanting what we have and our ability to distribute it to them).

We believe we're at one of the highest-stake turning points in human history...

As a human race, we'll very soon hold in our hands AI more powerful than anything that's ever existed before. This AI can be what catalyzies humanity into a golden-era like never before... but it can also prove to be the most dangerous creation we have ever brought into existence.

At Air we believe AI can be the greatest force of good we've ever had and we're on a mission to make sure that it heads that direction. We want to create a new world for our kids kids to live in, one that is light years ahead of where we're at now.

And the first step in that direction is creating a world class conversational support AI.

This will be our first major transition into AI and give us the foothold to collect millions of hours of conversational data to further train our own custom models on.

We currently have a basic GPT 3 app using OpenAI's API, assembly ai for transcription, 11 labs TTS and twilio where you can call into it and chat with a human sounding bot over the phone. Basically all the infrastructure is built out already

But now that Intercom has recently released a GPT 4 integrated chatbot called Fin that's built into their product, we want to leverage that to build an over the phone AI customer support rep.
• Acceptance Criteria: This Is What We Want To Build
• * we have a phone number that 10+ users can call and talk to a GPT 4 powered voicebot at the same time
• that GPT 4 model will search our knowledge base and generate answers from that knowledge base (you can use Fin from intercom for this)
• There is a sub 2 second latency from the time the person stops talking to the time the voicebot starts talking using 11 labs voice generator (this is the most important piece)

Technical Details

This is a REALLY simple project since we have 80% of it built already and working. ALL we need to do is swap out calling Open Ai for the text generation and plug in Fin from intercom for that instead.

Node.Js is the main language you need proficiency in.

Here are all the vendors we want to connect and the overall flow
• User calls in to a phone number and it picks up (this is powered by twilio voice API and already done)
• The customer support bot automatically opens up with hello! (this is a precorded voice from a previous generation by 11 labs and already done )
• The user asks the bot a question or tells it something is wrong. We use a speech to text like whisper or assembly ai to transcribe it (this is already done)
• We feed that text into Fin from intercom, their GPT 4 chat support bot, or another GPT powered customer support knowledge base searcher (this needs to be done still)
• Fin generates a response based on a knowledge base we have provided it with
• We send that text back to 11 labs
• 11 labs generates TTS and streams it to twilio to play it back over the phone (this is already done)

Comp:

Salary: $100k-$200k a year (depending on contribution level)

Ownership: Around 0-2% equity (depending on contribution level)

What We Are Looking For:

Every great team throughout history has 2 similarities:

1) They are lean. (Aka bloat and greatness don't correlate.)

2) They only consist of A players only (B-players aren't allowed to even breath around the organization. Great teams have a way of pushing B players out.)

And we are actively looking to bring on our first support engineer without compromising on those 2 principles.

This is probably for you if you love creating great customer experiences and enjoy solving new and hard technical problems that make a massive impact for a customer and the business overall. This is for the person who has a rare and unique blend of great communication skills while also still being a really good developer.

The formula that we have found that works for us is:
• Assembling a lean team of great engineers.
• Assembling a founding team that makes sure those engineers are working on only a products that people want and will care about
• Assembling a team that truly is a master of distribution, sales, and marketing

When you follow that formula, you have a team of engineers that are not wasting their time on products with low probability of succeeding - and you also have a distribution, sales, and marketing team that aren't wasting their time pushing a product that will eventually die off once customers actually get to see the product for what it is.

We believe the lack of marriage between these 2 things is one of the number one causes of wasted potential in capitalism. And these things are responsible for the growth rate we've had up until this point and will continue to be the reason behind the growth rate we anticipate to have with of our new projects.

Exact Criteria:

Full-stack javascript support engineer who preferably knows Typescript, React, MongoDB, Postgres, Node and NextJS

Why Air?

You are on a floating rock in the middle of the universe. Let that sink in.

The truth is… you do not need another “job.” — if that is what you are looking for, you can save your time and just stop reading now.

What you need is to be a part of something that matters — to be a part of something that causes you to tap dance into work everyday.

At Air, we are obsessed with creating magical products that will make our future grandkids proud and that cause our customer’s faces to light up.

After all, that is the real goal of building software… not to generate ARR/MRR, not to prop up your valuation, not to raise more capital… but to create products you are proud to stamp your name on and to create products that are a part of your life story.

And the fascinating dichotomy that our team at Air believes in strongly is that a team of engineers obsessed with creating great products always has more success than a team focused primarily on making money.

At Air, our focus on product is why we have generated $11.23MM in revenue since launching 78 days ago.

We aren’t building Air to sell in the next few years or to add some zero’s to our net worth. We want to build a company that lives long past any of our founders. A company that maintains an essence of excellence over the long term. A company that people can feel is synonymous with quality.

We are looking for more A player engineers to join us on this vision and contribute in one of 2 ways:

1) To make an immediate impact on our current products (and subsequently our active customers and the thousands of new customers we are actively onboarding) - you can make serious contributions and affect customers' experience week 1 at Air.

2) Or to play an integral role in us pulling off some of our moonshot products that we are working on behind the scenes — to see it from zero to one. (Primarily our conversational AI, Odin, that can do 25 minute sales calls over the phone that is indistinguishable from a human)

And just so you know that this is for you, we have 3 criteria that makes up an “A player”:
• Someone That Is Naturally Obsessive And That, Once They Believe In Something, Is Willing To Work A MINIMUM Of 12 Hours A Day (An Obsessive... They Think About “Air” All The Time)
• Someone With Years Of Evidence Of Exceptional Ability At Their Craft (And Learns Rapidly)
• Someone Who Is “One Of Us” - The Thought Of Working With Them Everyday Excites Us (Businesses Are At Their Best When Everyone Enjoys Who They Are Going To War With Everyday)

If you want to learn more about our vision and are curious about what we are building at Air and how you could contribute, apply below

• Mangel p vaccine
