Position Summary:

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience in working with diverse students, supporting student progression, and assisting students in achieving academic and professional success.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
• MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program;
• Minimum of two years of post-MSW practice experience; and
• An earned doctoral degree in social work or a related field. Candidates who are ABD
during the application process must complete their degrees before employment begins.
SALARY INFORMATION:
These are full-time, 9-month, tenure track exempt Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and open rank faculty positions. Salary will be based upon applicable academic preparation and experience. Position Summary:
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) invites applications for the position of Records Specialist within the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar is a forward-looking group working behind the scenes to find and produce innovative ways to improve the student, faculty and staff experience at UAA. The Office of the Registrar maintains several software applications that assist in production of the university catalog, degree audits, registration, and scheduling. Applicants should appreciate the structure policies and regulation provide and be ready to operate in a fast-paced, technology-rich environment aimed at generating efficiencies. We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented individual with stellar organizational skills and attention to detail who is current (within the last 3-5 years) in multiple software applications and database management. Applicants are expected to address in their cover letter their current (last 3-5 years) experience and skill sets related to the use of technology and its relevancy to this position.
Duties:
Maintain records and policies:- Assist with correction/updating of records to ensure records integrity. This includes researching and correcting duplicate or incorrect social security numbers/student ID numbers and name corrections/updates. Responsible for moving academic record data from one record to another when records need to be consolidated.- Maintain confidentiality of student records as required by FERPA. Systems testing and maintenance:- Coordinate the automation and outsourcing elements of verifications and official transcripts.- Responsible for testing of Banner, OnBase, Parchment and UAOnline prior to upgrades and initiating task requests through Statewide work teams to improve student service and business practices.- Serve as a member of the Statewide Academic History Workteam.- Facilitate implementation of new technologies and software to support unit operations.- Train new staff and implement new technology and processes for area. Provide exceptional customer service, interpret, and communicate:- Serve as point of contact for staff, faculty and students at UAA for all things related to end of term processes, reinstatement, official transcript ordering, enrollment verification, and grading.- Respond to inquiries and troubleshoot via phone, email, chat and in person as needed.- Provide training to staff and students as needed and upon request.- Responsible for responding to emails in records departmental account within 24 hours. Receive, review, and process all official UAA transcripts:- Production of official transcripts: Receive and process all requests for official UAA transcripts including billing or initiating refunds of all moneys involved with transcript request.- Forward requests for transcripts by email to other UA campuses as appropriate. Work with other campuses and/or departments, specifically Bursar's Office, to verify financial holds and inform student of need to clear hold.- Identify, research and correct transcript problems and, when appropriate and in consultation with supervisor, transition collected data to Banner for future record retrieval.- Coordinate with official transcript vendor, Parchment, to resolve issues as they arise. Post certifications to transcript upon departmental request.- Responsible for ensuring data integrity of the transcript prior to release and working with appropriate offices for correction, if necessary.- Perform in-depth research and compilation of microfiche files (archived from six different databases and university systems) to make sure each student's transcript is complete before generating an official copy. Provide microfiche maintenance and security for microfiche of official grade rosters and change of grade forms, among other student record documents. Education and outreach:- Responsible for all end of term processes for UAA and its community campuses, including but not limited to academic standing, Chancellor's/Dean's lists, GPA recalculations and include/exclude process.- Compile and distribute missing grade report. Regularly work directly with faculty and staff to troubleshoot grading issues.- Communicate directly with students regarding their academic standing, update Chancellor's/Dean's lists on website and run Banner reports to verify accuracy of data.- Process change of grade forms submitted by faculty, requiring decision-making authority on appropriateness of grade change and referring when necessary. Accurate reporting and compliance:- Facilitate the transmission and reporting of all enrollment and degree verifications in coordination with our vendor, the National Student Clearinghouse. Position Summary:
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) invites applications for the position of Records Specialist within the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar is a forward-looking group working behind the scenes to find and produce innovative ways to improve the student, faculty and staff experience at UAA. The Office of the Registrar maintains several software applications that assist in production of the university catalog, degree audits, registration, and scheduling. Applicants should appreciate the structure policies and regulation provide and be ready to operate in a fast-paced, technology-rich environment aimed at generating efficiencies. We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented individual with stellar organizational skills and attention to detail who is current (within the last 3-5 years) in multiple software applications and database management. Applicants are expected to address in their cover letter their current (last 3-5 years) experience and skill sets related to the use of technology and its relevancy to this position.
Duties:
Maintain records and policies:- Assist with correction/updating of records to ensure records integrity. This includes researching and correcting duplicate or incorrect social security numbers/student ID numbers and name corrections/updates. Responsible for moving academic record data from one record to another when records need to be consolidated.- Maintain confidentiality of student records as required by FERPA. Systems testing and maintenance:- Coordinate the automation and outsourcing elements of verifications and official transcripts.- Responsible for testing of Banner, OnBase, Parchment and UAOnline prior to upgrades and initiating task requests through Statewide work teams to improve student service and business practices.- Serve as a member of the Statewide Academic History Workteam.- Facilitate implementation of new technologies and software to support unit operations.- Train new staff and implement new technology and processes for area. Provide exceptional customer service, interpret, and communicate:- Serve as point of contact for staff, faculty and students at UAA for all things related to end of term processes, reinstatement, official transcript ordering, enrollment verification, and grading.- Respond to inquiries and troubleshoot via phone, email, chat and in person as needed.- Provide training to staff and students as needed and upon request.- Responsible for responding to emails in records departmental account within 24 hours. Receive, review, and process all official UAA transcripts:- Production of official transcripts: Receive and process all requests for official UAA transcripts including billing or initiating refunds of all moneys involved with transcript request.- Forward requests for transcripts by email to other UA campuses as appropriate. Work with other campuses and/or departments, specifically Bursar's Office, to verify financial holds and inform student of need to clear hold.- Identify, research and correct transcript problems and, when appropriate and in consultation with supervisor, transition collected data to Banner for future record retrieval.- Coordinate with official transcript vendor, Parchment, to resolve issues as they arise. Post certifications to transcript upon departmental request.- Responsible for ensuring data integrity of the transcript prior to release and working with appropriate offices for correction, if necessary.- Perform in-depth research and compilation of microfiche files (archived from six different databases and university systems) to make sure each student's transcript is complete before generating an official copy. Provide microfiche maintenance and security for microfiche of official grade rosters and change of grade forms, among other student record documents. Education and outreach:- Responsible for all end of term processes for UAA and its community campuses, including but not limited to academic standing, Chancellor's/Dean's lists, GPA recalculations and include/exclude process.- Compile and distribute missing grade report. Regularly work directly with faculty and staff to troubleshoot grading issues.- Communicate directly with students regarding their academic standing, update Chancellor's/Dean's lists on website and run Banner reports to verify accuracy of data.- Process change of grade forms submitted by faculty, requiring decision-making authority on appropriateness of grade change and referring when necessary. Accurate reporting and compliance:- Facilitate the transmission and reporting of all enrollment and degree verifications in coordination with our vendor, the National Student Clearinghouse. Includes compiling information for reports, ensuring accurate data is reported, resolving errors and serving as primary point of contact for problem resolution or updates in functionality.- Provide information about and market NSC to students, parents, and third parties.- Work directly with third parties requiring verification of enrollment for UAA students, including PFD office, State of Alaska, military, housing and native corporations, etc. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Support and/or complete complex tasks under the pressure of deadlines, including academic record maintenance, enrollment and degree reporting and verification, end of semester processing, production of official transcripts, and grading oversight/troubleshooting. Two years’ experience working full time in a post-secondary educational environment or equivalent customer service environment where rules and regulations are applied to individual customers.
Required Education or Training:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or an associate’s degree from an accredited institution and 2+ years of transferable professional work experience as a substitute for a bachelor’s degree. Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, calendaring, email, and web browsers within the last 3-5 years is required. Familiarity with complex web applications and database management systems within the last 3-5 years is preferred.

We seek a seasoned, proactive, creative, impact-oriented, and collaborative financial leader who is willing to pursue new knowledge, skills, and expertise. Technical skills and knowledge are essential, but the CFO must also be service-oriented and highly skilled at communication and relationship building in a complex environment. The successful candidate will bring an innovative and strategic perspective on how to grow and invest philanthropic funds for a large, complex university foundation and a vision for continued growth and stewardship of the UA Foundation’s assets.
Broad Responsibilities: Advise the UA Foundation president and board of directors in matters related to finance, accounting, and business affairs. Under the general direction of the UA Foundation president, manage finance, accounting, and business affairs in an orderly, efficient, and prudent manner. In consultation with the UA Foundation president and staff, develop annual and long-term operating budgets that meet strategic objectives, as required by the board of directors. Make recommendations to the UA Foundation president, board of directors, and committees to ensure the UA Foundation’s short- and long-term financial health. Advise and maintain investment policies and strategies for all assets held by the UA Foundation and oversee and report on the performance of investments. Advise and support the board of director’s investment committee and finance and audit committee. Comply with federal and state statutes and regulations, policies of the boards of directors and regents, and appropriate other regulations, procedures, and responsible business practices. Work effectively with UA Foundation, UA System Office, and university personnel and other constituencies located throughout Alaska and beyond. Maintain a system of procedures and accounting that provides for adequate controls over all funds received or receivable, and other assets, and a complete record of all receipts, disbursements and all other business transactions in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Maintain all records that may be required by law, contract, or other agreement. Develop adequate financial statements and reports, prepared per Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Financial Accounting Standards Board, National Association of College and University Business Officers recommendations, and other applicable standards or regulations. Provide for the completion of timely external and internal audits of the UA Foundation’s financial statements, records, receipts, and disbursements. Provide for timely completion of all tax filings per the Internal Revenue Code and applicable states’ requirements. Cause to be maintained an effective risk management program including insurance, general safety, environmental health and safety, loss prevention, and claims management. Assist with development and implementation of the UA Foundation’s strategic plan. Perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the UA Foundation president.
Specific Duties: Develop a long-term financial plan that provides for growth and stability. Work with fund managers to ensure compliance with investment and asset allocation strategies, review selection and performance of investment managers and do fiduciary due diligence. Recommend courses of action to the investment committee as appropriate. Assess liquidity requirements and acceptable risk for the investment of non-endowed funds. Determine appropriate asset allocation for portfolios in compliance with investment committee guidelines. With UA Foundation president, act as a liaison and relationship manager for fund managers, investment consultants, custodians, investment managers, banks, and other service providers. Conduct appropriate due diligence and monitoring. Conduct on-site visits to investment and fund managers, reviewing systems, processes, and back-office operations. Report and make recommendations to investment committee. This position has been delegated the authority from the board of directors and UA Foundation president to execute banking and investment contracts, purchase and sell securities, and withdraw funds from depository accounts and is authorized to commit expenditures on behalf of the organization. Responsible for determining cash requirements and providing sufficient liquidity from the Consolidated Endowment Fund and the operating portfolio to meet UA Foundation obligations. Attend board of directors, investment committee, and finance and audit committee meetings. Give presentations and provide training to committees and the board of directors as appropriate. Provide expertise, advice, and written recommendations on complex issues. Guide executive management regarding UA Foundation tax-related matters and ensure timely submittal of all tax filings. Candidate Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Experience with an institutionally related foundation, higher education institution, community foundation, or large nonprofit is ideal, but not essential.
