Job Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for providing HR support to multiple facilities in their assigned region and respective CEOs, and SVP of Human Resources. Besides general HR responsibilities, the HRBP will uncover deeper insights and create the experiences that power our employees and business. You will identify employment engagement practices and opportunities important to retention.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides strategic support to the multiple facilities and respective CEOs, Human Resource Staff members, and management team by recommending human resources objectives that promote a higher level of morale, increases employee engagement, fosters employee retention of “A” players, and drives improved productivity consistent with growth and profit objectives.
• Advocate and facilitator to seek resolution of employee relations issues, with escalation to the SVP of Human Capital when necessary.
• Maintains and applies knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Acts as primary contact with labor counsel.
• Conduct training and provide coaching to facility employees on topics including interviewing, hiring, terminations, performance evaluations, safety, and compliance.
• Manages the performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
• Manages pay policies consistent with the Company’s pay philosophy.
• Oversees new employee orientation and the on-boarding process to ensure a positive transition into the position.
• Analyzes Human Resources key metrics (turnover, exit interviews,) and utilize data for process improvements.
• Ensures necessary HR licensure requirements to ensure compliance with CARF, State, and local agencies.
• Manages the compliance of government reporting needed for (EEO-1, OSHA, Wage & Hour and etc…)
• Ensures communications to the employee base from the facility and corporate office.
• Oversees leave of absence process in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Oversees workplace accident investigations and claims reporting with Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier.
• Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports
• Preparation and presentation of performance evaluations
• Provides objective feedback to employees
• Provides appropriate training for department and hold staff accountable for attending required training
• Responsible for recommending and ensuring regulatory staffing patterns & managing annual budget.
• Monitors adherence to company and department policies, procedures, and practices
• Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the company’s policies

Education/Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 12 years human resources generalist experience, 5 years at a supervisory level.
• HR Leadership experience is oversight of multiple sites.
• PHR/SPHR preferred.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Advanced ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with HRIS, Time & Attendance, Payroll systems, and Web based application.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

​​The Treatment Advocate will observe client’s daily activities and assist in their recovery. TA will collaborate with the Treatment team and assist with service coordination as needed for patients. American Addiction Centers strives to ensure that all of our patients receive the most comprehensive care to address the issues that may impede their recovery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for welcoming new patients, assisting with orientation of programming schedule and rules.
• Conduct patient belongings search when new patient admitted.
• Complete rounds and security checks.
• Participate in coordination of patient’s daily schedule including treatment meetings, behavior interventions, and overall general observation of behavior and level of participation.
• Provide support and encouragement to patients.
• Support and encourage patient participation in group, individual, and family counseling services.
• Support clinical services of patients as assigned by clinical manager.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meeting and program staff meetings.
• Ensure that all documentation necessary meet contract, licensure, accreditation and standards for services in a timely manner following the AAC’s documentation policy guidelines.
• Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure the best care for patient.
• Provide supportive clinical services to outpatient and inpatient adult population.
• Identify situations which may be potentially harmful to patients and report any patient or safety concerns to Clinical Manager and/or CEO.
• Understand and abide by State Department standards, facility accreditation, AAC’s policy and procedures.
• Adhere to company code of ethic and maintain professional boundaries with patients at all times.
• Respectful of patient rights as well as understanding of patients unique recovery needs.
• Communicate with all staff, patients, and families using excellent professional written and verbal skills.
• Demonstrate dependability and adaptability with patients and staff.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and company information.
• Abide by the standards of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines.
• Assists in monitoring and managing patient community as a therapeutic milieu.
• Intervenes in crisis situations to deescalates and resolves crises.
• Maintain upkeep of personal professional certification and CEU’s as required by state board without lapse, holds, suspensions, or investigation.
• Other task as assigned by direct supervisor within scope of practice.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences required (social sciences, human services, counseling or psychology).
• State recognized (IC&RC) alcohol and drug certification (or within six months of completing certification) required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a behavioral healthcare field.
• Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation.
• Ability to read, write and interpret written information, type documentation, present information to groups and participate in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
• Valid driver license and insurable driving record (If driving a company vehicle or if driving personal vehicle for company business; refer to Guidelines for Driving Company Vehicles).

• Review intake screening and VOB information for patients prior to admission, follow-up if warranted.
• Coordinate with Patient Financial Information & Benefits Coordinator on insurance/financial issues that may arise during admission.
• Collects any payments at time of admission as requested.
• Forwards all collections and associated documentation to business office.
• Completes and updates forms in operating platforms with patients.

• Assist with admission-related financial functions as necessary.
• Manage transportation requests, including drivers, car service scheduling and dispatching.
• Meets with families at time of admission, answer any questions / concerns.
• Maintains and develops required reports as requested by Director of Patient Services.
• Meets with drivers daily to discuss and coordinate transportation/ conflicts.
• Monitors and manages all email correspondence.
• Maintain compliance with insurance contractual obligations.
• Maintains compliance with AAC policies and procedures.
• Maintains compliance with state regulations.
• Supports and promotes an environment of Customer Service.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience working a substance abuse facility or behavioral health preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to shift priorities to meet departmental needs.
• Ability to plan and utilize time and resources effectively
• Ability to maintain communication with poise and professionalism in conflictive situations.
• Professional in appearance and manner
