The Event Marketing Specialist will provide project management and execution of external commercial engagements on behalf of American Express Global Business Travel.

We are seeking a high energy, creative marketing and event production professional that has a desire to be part of a fast-paced environment. The Event Marketing Specialist plans the layout, design, installation, use, and dismantling of American Express Global Business Travel exhibit booth property at trade shows and events. This position supports commercial growth for American Express Global Business Travel through audience engagement at external exhibitions and conferences.

The Event Marketing Specialist has complete accountability for operational execution, budget management, contract oversight, and performance reporting. In this role you will contribute to the company's brand presence at both industry and non-industry events, driving audience engagement with our commercial team and crafting interest in American Express Global Business Travel brand as a tech forward travel and expense solution provider.

What You'll Do:
• Contribute to the development and execution ofthe global events' strategy with a core focus on driving lead generation.
• Actively search for and identify persona-based, segment-focused events to improve brand visibility and audience engagement.
• Work closely with internal partners to ensure business objectives are met.
• Negotiate with vendors, run events budget, be responsible for contract negotiations.
• Assist in the development of the annual events' calendar with input from commercial team members.
• Track and report on ROI data from events
• Champion demand generation standard methodologies and educate partners on processes and procedures that build efficiency while getting results.
• Partner with internal collaborators to position thought leadership opportunities at events
• Expertly manage events to ensure attendee and stakeholder alignment preshow, on site and post event
• Guide and build robust marketing campaigns to drive audience engagement through digital channels
• Project management including but not limited to on-site branding and positioning, list sourcing and cleansing, booth staffing, sales and client general manager collaboration, etc
• Own timelines and unify stakeholders across the business for each unique event activity
• Review and distribute registration lists as they become available
• Support commercial attendees with details on registered contacts, so they are prepared to have valuable conversations, regardless of their specific segment or region.
• Seek unique opportunities to win market share – emphasis on making an impact in target verticals and locations
• Manage post-event ROI tracking process in collaboration with Marketing Operations team.
• Identify opportunities to surprise and delight target contact attendees and inspire pipeline progression.

What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor's Degree in Event Marketing, Communications, or related field.
• Proven experience managing domestic meetings (educational events, symposiums), trade shows, and corporate events.
• Shown success in Project Management, to include project planning and execution
• Willingness and availability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of challenging priorities.

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. The Senior Travel Consultant role at Amex GBT Egencia is to deliver exceptional travel service experience for our Corporate and Business Travel Customers. What You'll Do on a Typical Day
- Afterhours is a Department that is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes holidays and weekends.
- Candidate must be willing to work any shift in a 24-hour day. Most common shifts are between 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Pacific Time and include working Weekends and Holidays.
- Afterhours supports both US and Canada calls. TICO Certification is a requirement. If, at time of hire, you are not TICO Certified you would allowed to study and will be given 3 attempts to Pass the TICO Certification. Overview of Role:

The Senior Travel Consultant role at Amex GBT Egencia is to deliver exceptional travel service experience for our Corporate and Business Travel Customers. What You’ll Do On a Typical Day
• Afterhours is a Department that is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes holidays and weekends.

• Afterhours supports both US and Canada calls. TICO Certification is a requirement. • Act as Travel Advisor and Consultant to a single or multiple Corporate Business and accounts with the willingness to jump in and flexibility in shifts to meet client needs
• Act as the point of sale on all Domestic & International travel requirements, arranging both routine and sophisticated travel for air, rail, car, and Hotel accommodation, using Sabre and Amadeus.
• Provide consultative advice, solutions and recommendations. Additionally, pro-actively selling additional service for our travelers (e.g. Hotel and Car/Car Service), whilst ensuring adherence to the customers agreed travel policy and requirements
• Following all legal standard requirements, which include required training, compliance and sanctions
• Deliver expectations on individual/shared team goals and support all business Key Performance Indicators. Proactively review your metrics to check on and improve performance
• Follow internal compliance and regulatory requirements for all customers and locations supported
• Handle the end-to-end booking process through the ticketing and order fulfillment, either over the telephone, via messaging or via email or back-office systems and servicing platforms.

What We’re Looking For
• In depth knowledge of:
• International air, hotel, car, and rail booking

• 5+ years business travel proven experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

Function as the primary client liaison and lead for assigned programs. Negotiate critical program components based on knowledge of client requirements from initial request through contract completion and turnover;

this includes recommending supplier and destinations options and solutions. Proactively negotiate price and contract, and build reasonable preliminary budgets.

Connect with Procurement Team and suppliers on a timely basis, information relative to travel program operations. Follow standard operating procedures for all sourcing activity.

Negotiate and contract between 100 - 200 programs worldwide on an annual basis, however, the scope of this position is dependent upon assigned account / programs and may vary from client-to-client.

Perform other duties as required. Reports to Team Leader. Working relationship with clients and third-party suppliers.

Process Management :
• Review meeting request and conducts meeting qualification call with client.
• Develop and implement program and profit / negotiation strategy to achieve the best price and / or improvement consideration with suppliers, supporting the specific needs of the client.
• Apply knowledge of domestic and international destinations to recommend appropriate sites. Maintain knowledge of new destination options, value-priced destination options and promotional offerings.
• Gather all the information vital to accurately source and place an event on behalf of a client, including standard availability grids from designated technology tool.
• Initiate RFP process to secure appropriate room blocks, logistical event needs, and pricing from hotels and other suppliers.
• Qualify proposals to resolve if appropriate and competitive.
• Negotiate and confirm critical program components with supplier(s) and team, applying basic terms and conditions, and / or modifying pre-existing master policies to meet individual client requirements.
• Meet client deadline providing availability grid based on client standards, and review with client and team.
• Track supplier option dates and follows-up with team members and suppliers of program status.
• Review all supplier contracts prior to finalization, ensure both program specific and generic terms and conditions are accurate and legally protective of both American Express M&E and the client, including attrition dates, cancellation policies, etc.

Use appropriate authorization and addendum form to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Conduct final negotiations with selected suppliers for the best possible pricing and concessions to meet savings and spend expectations.
• Provide supplier with all appropriate documentation at sale notification including itinerary, supplier contracts, etc.
• Build meeting records in the designated meeting management system and complete all internal documentation for the program prior to turnover.
• May participate in program re-negotiations or cancellation negotiations, as required.
• Achieve appropriate benchmarking metrics as per client or company requirement

Financial Management :
• Advise Meeting Management Team and customer of initial deposit requirement and secure payment.
• Responsible for accurate program forecasting and updating business management systems with accurate financial and estimated budget and cost savings information as needed.
• Maintain tracking information of all tentative, sold, and canceled programs in business program management system.
• Maintain accurate records, system input, and complete file management as outlined in American Express M&E and client policies and procedures.

Relationship Management :
• Work closely with client to ensure program objectives are addressed, maintain open line of communication with client to ensure understanding of expectations and client satisfaction.
• Maintain open and ongoing communication with team regarding supplier utilization, key negotiations, performance and outstanding programming ideas.
• Partner with third party suppliers to understand and negotiate their services as needed.
• May be requested to run VIP negotiations.

Other :
• Work on special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.
• Keep abreast of industry standards and trends related to responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain key client and supplier relationships
• Develop and maintain knowledge of technology and / or software solutions
• Prioritize multiple projects / demands effectively
• May require travel to destinations worldwide, in support of client site inspections.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :
• Minimum of 5 years experience in project, event or meeting management, at least 2 of which are in procurement required
• 4-year degree preferred
• CMP designation preferred
• Experience in hotel buying required
• Proven negotiation skills
• Knowledge of international and domestic hotels and destinations required
• Knowledge of travel supplier operations, overall capabilities / range of services
• Program management system experience preferred, especially with an online sourcing tool
• Understanding of and ability to effect win / win solutions

Summary:

Support Client Management and customer contacts with technology & product questions specific to PTA product deployment, implementations, escalations and resolution of issues related to technology. Facilitating travel program technology support, providing assistance with the on-line booking tool including maintenance, implementations or escalations, Interact with AmexGBT client management and our customers to provide consultation around technology and tools used in the day-to-day travel program. What You'll Do:
• Responsible for providing 2nd level product support. These cases could be relating to product breakdown/defect or customer changes/maintenance to meet their travel program.
• Maintain a good understanding of all AEGBT OBT/Approval products to ensure world-class support to AEGBT’s OBT product.
• Provide Issue triage, escalation and resolution to include:Troubleshoot issues thoroughly by understanding the impact of solution before providing the resolution. Provide complete case research conducted prior to escalating the case to 3rd Level, Internal Partner Team or Vendor/technology partner. Test the solution or any new release of product functionality and provide information/awareness of any shortfalls before these are available to clients.
• Ensure SLA agreements are adhered to for problem resolution.
• Provide communications to clients/fields on outages or enhancement.
• Provide subject matter expertise on travel industry practices and underlying industry technologies.
• Keep management advised of potential problem areas and escalate any situation that may jeopardize AEGBT or vendor credibility.
• Provide status reports as directed on progress and accomplishments to management.
• Create or modify product FAQ/instruction manual as necessary; this may include different versions or customized offerings of a product.
• Liaise with Vendor Product Support and Product Managers to keep user documents, manuals, test plans, FAQs etc., update as needed.

What We're Looking For:
• At least five years’ experience in the travel industry with extensive experience of business/corporate travel operational reservation workflow procedures.
